The presence in the house of a treadmill is a great option for sports activities, maintaining your body in good condition. At the same time, it is necessary to think not only about your body, but also about the simulator. And if you have information on how to do this, then the track is able to work for a long time.

Device treadmills

The simulator circuit contains 8 key elements.

Console

It is a control panel of the simulator. In particular, there is a monitor and control keys, which set the speed and degree of inclination of the running belt, and a training program is selected. The console, based on the structure of the track for running, may contain additional components: speakers, headphone jack, security key, connectors for connecting tablet computers or phones.

The security key is fixed on one side to the console of the simulator, and on the other, by means of a specialized clothespin, on garments. If something happens, the key is broken and the simulator locks.

Monitor

A monitor is an opportunity to assess the parameters of an activity and have a little fun during the training. Monitors are black and white or in color, can be controlled by keys or have a touch control. On the monitor, you can observe the most important indicators: time of movement, speed of movement, distance traveled, angle of inclination.

In addition, additional parameters are able to be reproduced here: combustible calories, pulse rate, how much is left until the end of the session, name and characteristics of the selected program. On large-size color monitors, you can watch movies or TV shows.

Frame

It is the most important element of the structure of the simulator, it depends on the reliability of the sports facility and the maximum mass of the user. The frame is made of aluminum or steel. Do not forget that the larger the mass involved, the more powerful the frame must be acquired.

Handrails

The user holds onto the handrails, using them to maintain balance during the workout. However, they may also have additional functionality: for example, it is convenient to switch between them the level of inclination and the speed of the track.

Electric motor

This is a device that provides movement and change the angle of elevation of the tape of a sports simulator. The tracks with mechanical type of load are arranged in such a way that they do not need a motor, and the tape is activated using the steps of the user. In electric simulators practiced electric motor with a capacity of 2 horsepower or more. The higher the power of the electric motor, the broader the scale of speeds, and the greater the weight of the person engaged in the strength to withstand the track.

Deca and running tape

The structure of the simulator is impossible without these components of the structure. Running tape is wide and narrow, and its length is determined based on the length of the step involved. To tall people it is important to choose the widest running belt, otherwise it will be very uncomfortable to train. The deck is called the support board, on which the simulator web moves smoothly.

Shipping rollers

These wheels are required so that the simulator can be moved to different places.

Depreciation system

Required to ensure comfort and safety in the process of employment.Running is a traumatic exercise: the spinal column and joints take on a solid load with each step. The depreciation system helps to reduce this load, and makes it possible to exercise longer and more intensely. For cushioning in the tracks, flat natural or synthetic rubbers, shock absorbers with linear characteristics, dynamic and shock absorbing pillows are practiced.

Major faults, their signs and causes

Let's analyze the most frequent breakdowns and ways to eliminate them.

  • The treadmill does not turn on. Modern simulators are equipped with an automatic fuse that protects against power surges. This fuse is made in the form of a button that is placed below the switch and the power cord. When turned on, the fuse button must be depressed. If there is no such fuse or it is already in the on position, check the fuse on the power controller. The power controller is located under the cover, in the front lower area of the track.
  • The simulator is turned off during the session. Such problems are usually associated with worn brushes of the electric motor or over-stretched tape. If the brushes are loose on the collector contacts, they need to be changed. Next, check the belt tension: it is necessary to raise the left or right edge upwards with your hands, if the ribbon does not rise more than 2 cm, then it is too tight. With the usual stretch tape, it rises to 10-15 cm.
  • The simulator starts and stops immediately. In 99% of cases, this is associated with a breakage of a reed switch or loss of a magnet from the motor flywheel. Often in the process of illiterate transportation of the magnet itself falls out of the flywheel.
  • Ribbon slid sideways. To eliminate this trouble, you need to adjust the position of the rear shaft upwards so that the tape is stretched evenly across the shaft.
  • In the process of running the tape slips. During work, the tape is pulled out, which leads to a weakening of its tension. It is only necessary to stretch the rear shaft.
  • The simulator itself is gaining speed. The reason may be in the control panel.
  • Knocks, hard turns and slows down in the process of training. Usually such faults are associated with the development of shaft bearings or motor.
  • The console works during start-up, but the motor does not. As a rule, the cause of these faults is the breakdown of the motor power controller.

Necessary inventory

Before proceeding with the repair at home, check the availability of the necessary tools. Basically enough basic set: a set of wrenches and hex keys, flat and curly screwdrivers of various diameters, pliers.

For maintenance of simulators of any kind thick anhydrous silicone-based lubricant is practiced. It does not contain toxic components and has no odor. Thanks to it, the canvas slides, the deck is protected from damage, and the simulator makes less noise.

In addition, you may need some additional parts:

  • deck this basis for the canvas, consists of durable laminated wood;
  • drive belt - reduces the degree of noise, allows the track to operate at maximum speed, resistant to slip;
  • running tape - It is the driving component of the simulator, which needs regular care and respect.

How to repair?

Since the simulators are of different types, the repair for each of them will be different.

Mechanical

Mechanical simulator is considered the most ingenuous device to use. His canvas moves through the efforts of those involved. The lack of electrical connection, tricky electronics and auxiliary sensors makes these tracks lightweight, non-hazardous and accessible. They are often purchased for training at home.

The structure of the mechanical tracks is not complicated, and the errors of these simulators are mainly associated with illiterate use. Malfunctions of a mechanical running simulator may result in loosening of the web, the occurrence of squeak and noise, slippage of the tape, or uneven movement.

If the treadmill slips, check the belt tension.

When lifting the blade in the middle, the gap should be 3-5 cm. If the gap is larger, tension the running belt. To do this, tighten the two rear wheel tensioning screws with a key, turning them a quarter turn. If the gap is smaller, relax the stretch. In case of significant wear, the tape can even be replaced with a new one.

Mechanical tracks need constant lubrication of the working units, removal of dirt and dust. Be sure to check the track elements before operation - they should not have play, knock and squeak.

Strictly follow the recommendations of the manufacturer relating to the external environment: mechanical simulators are afraid of excessive ambient humidity and high or low temperatures.

Electric

The electric run track is driven by an electric motor. On such simulators, you can set any speed within the limits determined by the engine power. These are devices with a difficult structure. Errors here can be associated with both mechanical failures and damage to electronics. One of the most common factors of breakdowns of an electric simulator is dust. It accumulates static electricity.

We have already reviewed solutions to the errors of simulators associated with damage to mechanical components. When the problem is related to damage to the electrical part, it is necessary to turn off the power of the simulator completely for 10-15 minutes. Then try to turn it on: after a similar reboot, the simulator is able to return to normal operation.

If this did not happen, Check the power wiring. He must be connected closely and without changing polarity otherwise, it can cause damage to the entire electronic filling. Remember that power surges are just as harmful for simulators as for various electronic installations: If such jumps occur frequently in your house, secure the simulator by plugging in a UPS.

Conducting more complex repairs, such as repairing the power board electronics, console boards, power controller, restoring (firmware) software for the jogging track, and more, is not possible at home. It is better to use the services of the service center.

Magnetic

Frequent errors of magnetic simulators are easy to fix on their own, without resorting to repairmen. Malfunctions of the simulator can result from improper maintenance and operation. Most of these devices have limits on the mass involved. Exceeding the maximum permissible mass can cause installation roll and damage to mechanical elements.

If you notice a track roll, inspect the floor for unevenness, tighten the screws, and adjust the parts according to the manufacturer's instructions. In addition, the errors of magnetic simulators are associated with the need to change the batteries in the monitor - do not forget to do it all the time. Also remember to maintain the machine: lubricating parts and cleaning every week.

If you encounter difficulties with stretching the tape or losing centering of the moving tape, straighten it and stretch it according to the instruction manual.

But regulation is not always necessary to increase the stretch stretch of the running tape to solve the problem. There are also cases of improper functioning of the electric motor, which is controlled by the power part of the board.

Prevention

Maintenance of the simulator assumes that once a month it is necessary to conduct a full visual examination. Looking around:

  • electric cords;
  • Power Supply;
  • shock absorbers;
  • shipping wheels;
  • load regulators
  • clamps;
  • hydraulic cylinders;
  • adjust the height and angle of inclination of the tape;
  • folding system.

The serviceability of these elements is very important, as they are responsible for the safety of training.

Besides, Once a month you need to pull the threaded connections. Movable handrails, anti-roll bars, cantilever racks should be constantly checked. You also need to examine the control panel and keyboard, they are always clogged from the penetration of dirt and sweat drops. You can clean it with a standard detergent. Another prevention involves adjusting the belt tension.

Do not forget about cleaning under the simulator and its external surface. It should be done 2-3 times a month. To do this, it is recommended to use a soft cloth or cloth and detergent. In areas where it cannot be reached with a cloth, you can collect debris and dust with a vacuum cleaner.
