Severe morals demanded harsh dogs. Vintage fighting dogs, bred in England to participate in dog fights or to bait bulls or bears, bull-and-terriers had a powerful grip, perseverance, agility and speed. But with the ban on cruel entertainment at the end of the XIX century, the demand for such aggressive dogs fell, people were interested in other qualities of the breed, such as loyalty, trust in a person.
As a result, in the process of crossing a bull-and-terrier with Dalmatians and white English terriers, a new lightweight breed of fighting dogs was obtained - the white bull terrier.

The most common color in bull terriers is white. Moreover, whites are also considered to be those with colored spots on their heads.
If the colored spots descend below the neck, the dog is considered white with markings.
The following color schemes are allowed:
- red of all shades, except the lightest, which is considered pale-yellow;
- black, which is quite rare; usually a dog with such a fur coat has small white specks in the chest area or small “socks”, due to which such coloring is referred to as bicolor;
