In the west of the Balkan Peninsula is a country whose nature deserves the highest praise. There are 5 reserves, one of which is Lovcen. It is closer than the others to the sea coast, which certainly attracts tourists. For a considerable number of people, this place became a discovery: Montenegro is clearly visible, views that shake the imagination, I want to return here again.

Story

In the middle of the last century, Lovcen, which is in the south-west of the state, was declared a national park. The mountain massif is decorated with two highest points: Stirovnik a little higher - 1749 m, and the Yezerskaya Peak below - 1657 m. But not only lovers of mountain holidays can appreciate this beauty. Attracts tourists and the national park, where only some plants 1300 species.

The park was created by the authorities of Montenegro for the purpose of nature protection, and also it belongs to the cultural, historical and even architectural heritage of the country. Here there is something to inspire architecture lovers - for example, the village of Negushi is a monument of national architecture.

The main tourist destination of the park is the mausoleum of Peter Negoshi. For the Montenegrins, this cult personality: Peter II Petrovich ruled the country, was a bishop, a writer. And the place for his last refuge, by the way, he chose himself - this is historically attested. Alas, you can’t see the original chapel: the Austrian-Hungarian army didn’t regret the national treasure. The Austrian authorities were not afraid to disturb the remains of the deceased: the remains of the ruler were transferred to the Cetinje monastery by their orders.

But after the First World Serbian ruler Peter I Karageorgievich managed to reburied the remains of the leader of the nation in the chapel, in the same place. A new chapel was built by King Alexander in the 1920s. Unfortunately, this was not the end of the misfortunes: in the days of socialist Yugoslavia (namely, this country, it is worth recalling, Montenegro was part) preferred pagan mausoleums. Orthodox churches were destroyed, and this did not pass by the chapel. In the 70s of the last century, a mausoleum appeared in its place. And a few years after its construction, the country was awaited by an earthquake: many local people are convinced that this is a punishment for desecration of the shrine.

Tourists will tell the difficult history of the area to tourists, but first impressions do not imply words. The head is spinning from the beauty that Lovcen is famous for. Not far from the mausoleum - a specific platform with a breathtaking panorama. A huge part of Montenegro is on the palm. For this and come here!

Description

The Montenegrin National Park is not only a mountain and nature reserve, it is a place of special energy. You can walk along the beech and pine forest, see rare tulips and crocuses, delicate lilies. Here are found wild boars, you can meet a deer, a fox. Bird "representation" is not less solid - golden eagles, eagles, and also voiced nightingales.

Finally, lovers of “relief” walks will certainly like caves and crater-shaped depressions, mountain springs and even waterfalls. In some sources enviable mineral composition of water.

And another important attraction of the park is that it is located in the border climate zone. The sea and the mountains are side by side, and this has a beneficial effect on human health. Definitely a trip to Lovcen heals and boosts immunity. Plus a huge amount of positive emotions, surprises, discoveries - this is no less useful for a person’s somatic.

Many tourists come here primarily for the mountains. The height of the mountain massif is not as impressive, of course, like Elbrus or Mont Blanc, but 1700 m above the sea level is a decent indicator. The mountain Lovcen rocky slope, in which a lot of cracks, holes, deep drops. Aesthetically, it looks great - no wonder so many beautiful photos were made with an eye to the mountain slopes.

But just imagine that from Lovcen mountain you can see about 70% of the country's territory - this fact alone is impressive, forcing you to build a tourist route taking into account this place.

Leisure for tourists

The height of 1200 m is the valley of Mount Lovcen, large, picturesque and, perhaps, the most interesting for the tourist. It is called Ivanova Korita. It is in this zone that the Adventure Park is located in two hectares. Here, the developers have laid 7 paths that will surprise and delight lovers of physical activity and extreme sports.

In the same area there is a tourist center, where you can get a map of the park with a detailed schedule of the route. Here you can order a guide who will make your walk more meaningful and safe.

Interestingly, the whole year the entrance to Lovcen was free for tourists. Local residents, whose houses are located on the territory of the reserve, proved this right in court. In the summer of 2018, the authorities set the barrier again, and the entry fee again became constant. True, this did not affect the territory of the villages, they began to take payment right from the top, where the mausoleum of Negosh is located.

However, entertainment can be arranged on any wallet. If you are ready to spend money, you can rent ATVs. It is not cheap, but there will be many impressions. But walking on foot among the trees and pines, noticing the placer strawberries under our feet, is also very pleasant.

Let's see what else to go to Lovcen.

  • In winter, the mountain peaks are covered with snow, so tourists rent skis and sleds for children. And all this is an hour from the endless summer coast of the sea - the climatic contrast is impressive.
  • The first spring months in the national park - the kingdom of crocuses. Indescribable beauty, whole glades of crocuses, that they ask in the lens of the traveler's camera.
  • Rope park like the whole family. If the child is already 5 years old, he will be allowed to such adventures. Price in the range from 8 to 20 euros.
  • An ideal place for kebabs. And the Montenegrins are well aware of this, who at the weekend love to come to Ivanova Korita, where you can not only stroll through a wonderful, pleasant for muscles relief, but also fry fragrant mountain shashlyk. Notice, barbecues and tables are free, available to everyone.

Finally, it is impossible to imagine leisure here without visiting the mausoleum of Njegos. Seeing the historic place, you will continue the journey by hitting the observation deck. But it still has to reach 461 steps. And already there - unprecedented views and a sense of soaring.

Many tourists come here for hiking. This is the name of pedestrian tourism, which is now very popular (as before, however). A short, not to mad fatigue, journey through the highlands is what an office worker needs, tired of serving the monitor and routine work. And on Lovchen there are several routes, you can choose the one that corresponds to the level of readiness.

Another remarkable place - viewing benches over the Bay of Kotor. It is not surprising that wedding photo shoots in this place are so in demand. It seems that the whole world is looking at you, and it is impossible to inhale this beauty. But it is not necessary to be newlyweds to appreciate the beauty of the place. If you have even a drop of romance in you, the feeling of “just no words” will come to you here.

And because there is road Kotor - LovcenIf you look at pictures from a quadcopter, they seem unreal. Do you know how many turns on it? However, it is better to count them on the way. The road was built over 130 years ago.

If you are going to visit this region of Montenegro, be sure to take a beautiful notebook with you, and a sketchbook better. You probably want to describe the first impressions, philosophize, and maybe make sketches. All this has!

How to get there?

Unfortunately, there is no direct public transport to Lovcen. But if you get from Budva to Cetinje, then bring the final point of the route closer. The bus to Cetinje costs a couple of euros, and already there you will agree with the taxi driver, and for 25 euros (both ways) you will reach Lovcen. Problems with a taxi should not arise, many who want to help you for an adequate price can be found at the monastery.

However, you can rent a car from Budva to Lovcen. But here, you will not be able to drive around Cetinje - whatever one may say, and so it will be closer. The road from Kotor to Lovcen is a rather narrow serpentine, but you can part ways.

True, if you are accustomed to the main movement, you will have to be nervous. The bypass road from Cetinje has been expanded, which is already pleasing.

On foot, you can also come to Lovcen. From Kotor, this path will be at least five hours one way. But on the way there is a great place to relax with a restaurant. Back many tourists prefer to hitchhike. If you decide to climb, you need to go out at dawn to be on top of a beautiful mountain in the afternoon.

A great place for a budget (but not so “close to zero”) rest. If you get tired of the beaten tourist routes of central Europe, if you like small “cozy” countries, if the mountains and the sea, flowers, pines and walks attract you to a lot more urbanism, think seriously about a trip to Lovcen.

The journey will conquer you, and, most likely, on the next Eurovision you will vote for a small but very beautiful Montenegro.
