Radovici in Montenegro: attractions, climate and choice of apartments
The small village of Radovici in Montenegro is very popular among tourists, despite the lack of entertainment and a rather modest list of attractions. This place attracts travelers with its mild climate, cozy apartments, nature and history.
Description
The village of Radovich is located on the southern coast of the Bay of Kotor. The warm Mediterranean climate contributes to comfortable rest. The increased level of humidity and the summer heat seem to be dispersed by a light sea breeze, fresh and pleasant. At the same time, cold air masses cannot penetrate into this place: they are hampered by the surrounding mountains, so there is no need to fear sudden changes in the weather. Not far from the village is the city of Tivat, where lovers of fun will find a large number of bars, restaurants, nightclubs and similar establishments.
Besides, Radovici is attracted by a large number of beaches, including the well-known Blue Horizon. The fine sand, which is attributed to the healing properties, shoal, stretching no less than 50 meters from the shore, make this beach, surrounded by pine and olive trees, one of the most popular in Montenegro. Entrance fee, because the tourists are provided with everything necessary for rest. If you come with your equipment, you will not have to pay.

Alamar Beach - Another famous beach, which is characterized by comfort and higher prices. Here you can rent not only a sunbed or a chaise longue, but also a comfortable upholstered couch, covered by a canopy and installed on a wooden flooring that stretches to the water. Oblatno - not so popular, but no less favorite tourist beach. It is small: only 150 m in length. The shore is covered with a layer of pebbles.
Here you can rent everything you need for a holiday, and enjoy the view of the sea.
History reference
The region of Krtoli, in which Radoviches are located, has a rather rich history. The first mention of it dates from the XIII century. In those days, the area belonged to the monastic lands and belonged to the monastery of St. Michael the Archangel. The name "Krtoli" in translation means "hills", "fortifications". These natural heights at one time played the role of defensive structures that defended the settlement from enemy raids from the sea.
During the Middle Ages, the local nobility (Zeta princes, Nemanichi), Venetians and Turks fought for the salt mines located in the region. At that time salt was expensive, and the possession of these deposits could bring the owner considerable income. Montenegro, especially the region of Krtoli, also played an important role in the spread of Christianity. It was in this region in 1776 that the first public school in the country opened, in which children studied, among other things, the foundations of Christianity and the law of God.
What to see?
Radoviches do not shine with a large number of attractions, but the fact that they can offer for inspection, really deserves attention. These are mainly ancient churches:
- Holy john's;
- St. Luke (rebuilt in 1777)
- St. Michael the Archangel;
- Savior (central temple of the region);
- The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (built in 1843).
In addition, being in Radovici, it is worth visiting the famous bird sanctuary Tivatskaya Solila and the natural landmark of the Krtol archipelago, which includes Prevlaka Island (the Island of Flowers), St. Marko and Gospod od Grace.
Where to stay?
The most popular holiday apartments for tourists are:
- Villa Galina;
- Apartmani Kalezik;
- Starcevic apartments;
- apartments Bakadekina.
This accommodation is famous for its comfortable, homely rooms (some even have their own separate kitchen), the atmosphere of Montenegrin antiquity and - not least - affordable prices. Holidays in Radovichi are not noisy festivities and crowded excursions, not just a change of scenery. Here the companies of young people, so-called parties, will meet infrequently. For this type of holiday, this resort is not very suitable: too quiet and calm.
But family people with children love Radovich as a way to escape from their worries, forget about the hustle and bustle of the big city and join the history, culture and unique nature of the region, feel detached from the world and enjoy it to the fullest.
