Story

When the Venetians, the city became part of Venetian Albania and was called Teodo. After three centuries, during which power was constantly changing, the French and Austro-Hungarians ruled, in early 1920 it became part of Yugoslavia. Since 2006, Tivat is part of the independent Crna Gora or Montenegro.
After the construction of the Naval Arsenal for the ships of the Austro-Hungarian fleet at the end of the 19th century, city rights were transferred to Tivat.
