The rulers of various countries have always tried to seize the Crimea, which is why there have been so many wars on the Crimean territory. Another military campaign began in the middle of the 19th century. Devoted to the events of those years Monument to the sunken ships.
It was opened in 1905 in Sevastopol, it is dedicated to those ships that heroically defended the city from the ships of the enemy. In 1855, the forced sinking of Russian ships in the Crimean War was made.
The monument, representing the seven-meter column, at the top of which is located eagle with its head down and wings open, conveys an atmosphere of tragedy and hopelessness. The author of this monument is Estonian sculptor Amandus Adamson.
The famous sculptor owns another work located in the Crimea - this is a monument "Mermaid on the stone." The idea of creating a composition on the water arose from the creator after he heard the legend of a beautiful Tatar girl who was forcibly married to a Turkish ruler.
Even the birth of a child could not stifle homesickness. It is noteworthy that Adamson not only developed the project of a mermaid, not only did the work himself, but also paid the costs out of his own money.
The sculpture in the form of a girl with a baby in her arms was installed in Miskhor in 1907.
In honor of the 150th anniversary of the day when the Crimean War ended, a monument was erected, called "Stone reconciliation." In appearance, this roughly hewn stone, set on a small pedestal, symbolizes the unification of peoples. The desire of people to live in peace and harmony is confirmed by the inscription put on it: "In memory of those who died in the Crimean War, for lasting peace between their descendants."
Among the historical monuments of the Crimea in the number of visits leads Vorontsov Palacelocated in Alupka and representing a majestic structure, made in the style of knight.
BUT Livadia White Palace, which is located in the village of the same name, belonging to the Yalta district, attracts not only because at one time it was the summer residence of many Russian emperors, but also by holding a Crimean conference with the participation of heads of states such as the USA, the USSR and Great Britain, in 1945 .
Built this object in the style of the Renaissance.
The meeting of Churchill, Roosevelt, Stalin in Yalta in February 1945 is dedicated to bronze composition by Russian sculptor Zurab Tsereteli. The composition was created in 2005, but it was transferred to the Crimea only in November 2014.
Many historical figures, whose fates are to some extent connected with the Crimea, have memorial signs and monuments installed on the peninsula. So, in Evpatoria opened monument to the last emperor Nicholas II, timing this event to the centenary of the last visit by the Russian tsar to the resort place.
Fountain-monument dedicated to M. I. Kutuzov, created on the highway Simferopol - Alushta, before turning on the village of Radiant.
Dedicated to the Great Patriotic War
In the area of the Simferopol-Alushta highway, during the German occupation, partisans fought, for two and a half years they destroyed the enemy, incapacitated his equipment, but thousands of partisans and underground fighters died during the battles. In their memory, in memory of the heroic deeds of ordinary people, a sculpture was erected in 1963 "Partisan hat."

In Simferopol, both tourists and citizens are known monument to the T-34 tank - the liberator of the city. In the memorable, unforgettable April days of 1944, tankers storming the city had the idea to perpetuate the liberator tank. In the first days after the liberation of the city, the car was put on a pedestal, and since then it has been on the eternal post.
Now the T-34 tank is located in the very center of the Victory Square, in the days of celebration bouquets and flowers are laid on it.
Special words deserves Monument Sultan Amet Khan.
In the small town of Alupka in the Yalta district, a bust was set up for the Hero of the Soviet Union, a military pilot, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, an outstanding son of the Tatar people Amet-khan Sultan. For his service, he made 603 combat sorties, mastered about 100 aircraft, shot down 49 Nazi aircraft.

Unusual
There are on the Crimean peninsula and unusual monuments. One of them is monument to veteran trolleybus. It was installed in 2012 on the highway Simferopol - Alushta - Yalta. It is believed that this long-distance transport for the long years of its service transported more than 20 million tourists and vacationers.
An interesting monument is in the village of Sea. It was opened on September 23, 2011. This monument is dedicated to Viktor Tsoi and the Kino group. They opened it on the spot where several decades ago three young musicians invented a legendary group. In the village they still remember where Viktor Tsoi's tent stood: by the river, in the shadow of magnificent poplars, where young musicians enjoyed the music and sounds of a guitar.
The youngest, but already popular monument - "Green Men" or "Polite People." It was set up in Simferopol in 2015, dedicated to subunits of the GRU, paratroopers and marines, which in the days of the “Crimean Spring” ensured peace and order during the reunification of the peninsula with Russia.
Both children and adults actively attend "Glade of fairy tales" dedicated to literary characters. Not far from Yalta, sculptures of fairy tale heroes are located directly under the open sky. The figures are made of different materials, the nature of the Crimea itself often creates them from kryagi and outgrowths.
Some sculptures are located in the forest gorge. Strange plants complement the composition, and it seems that actually got into a fairy tale.
Speaking about the literary heroes, it is impossible not to mention the touching monument "A lady with a dog and a gentleman with a beard." This cultural object touches upon the moral aspects of the past and present generations. Looking at the sculpture, you can imagine the educated generation of the 90s of the 19th century, resting in Yalta. Or maybe Chekhov himself is resting on the embankment in Yalta?
