Dzhangul in Crimea: location and sights

Description
This tract is a landslide coast, located at Cape Tarkhankut (western part of Crimea). This place has not yet managed to lose its beauty, as it is located away from the main objects visited by tourists of the peninsula. Since 2009, Dzhangul has been attached to the “Beautiful Harbor” national park.
Dzhangul is located just a few kilometers from Olenevka. The trail leading to this place passes right behind the village. It can easily drive any transport.

This nature reserve is full of large beams, on the surface of which amazing vegetation has been preserved, since these places are protected from strong winds and other adverse effects of nature.

All stone formations will be able to hit the rest with their intricacy. The attention of tourists is often drawn to the huge forty-meter column, which has maintained its balance.
The largest landslide in the territory of the tract is the landslide massif located near the Thorn Beam. Its length is almost 500 meters, and its width can reach about 200 meters.
Wormwood, fescue, thyme grows on the massive terraces that were formed during constant landslide processes. In addition, in these places you can see growing groups of wild rose, blackberry, jasmine. Also here grows wild pear and openwork fern.
Not only the plant world, but also the animal world is notable for its great diversity in this natural park. The avian world is rich in special abundance. So, in the territory of the tract, you can see a huge number of different birds (flycatchers, partridges, starlings, cormorants). Also here you can find a lot of insects, including scarab beetles. Near the shore often inhabited by foxes.
The length of this attraction is almost five kilometers. Dzhangul consists of two parts.
- Top part. It is represented by numerous steppe zones with beams, which become much deeper closer to the sea. Steep and rocky outlets to the coast follow the steppe territories.
- Bottom part. This department has the form of a landslide massif and a lot of rocks of various sizes and shapes. Here you can see the chaos of the rocks.
Appearance history
The landscape of the tract was formed in the prehistoric period due to strong winds, frequent underwater earthquakes and sharp storms. Researchers claim that several thousand years ago a large formation was formed on the territory of a natural park, consisting of limestone, which can be observed even now.
This formation reaches a height of almost forty meters. It keeps on a thin stony basis and at the same time is the most stable in all weather conditions.
An interesting legend of its origin is connected with the stow, according to which the children of giants used to play on the site of the reserve. They made a sandbox out of the park and threw big stones that hindered them, and this space appeared in the water.
Interesting places
On the territory of the tract, you can find a considerable number of interesting places for tourists.
- Here, any tourist will be able to find beautiful scenic beach areas with clean sand and water. At the same time tourists are practically no tourists here. It is rather difficult to descend to the water due to the abundance of steep rocky descents and massifs. Coastal bands are usually narrow.
- There are also excellent places for diving and surfing. You can also organize walks along the coast of the park. It is near this tract you can find a large number of grottoes and cave zones under water, among which separately distinguished Thunder, Burun-Koba, Yuzhnaya (Thunder and South are located in the Cave Bay). The height of each of these places reaches more than one ten meters. Their width is 2.5-5.5 meters. Tourists visiting these caves and caves in the storm and bad weather are unsafe for human life.
- You can also come here to simply admire the beautiful panoramas of sliding layers of rocks from a great height. An interesting monument of nature is a long strip of massive boulders, which are considered a good place for geological research.
- In addition, tourists can take a tour of the many natural beams tract. On the steep stony slopes of the beams, vacationers will be able to see the many different inscriptions left by people.
- Many tourists when visiting the hole are attracted by the sunken cargo ship Sirius, which is perfectly visible to the man from the reserve. Most of the vessel is submerged, but you can still see its upper section. Often this cargo ship is also called a ghost ship.
The best time to visit this natural park is late spring or summer. After all, it is during such a period that the steppes begin to bloom profusely, and the sea is warming enough. The slopes are completely covered with flowers.
But in early autumn and winter, the weather in the reserve quickly deteriorates. Strong winds start here. Cold currents appear on the sea and high waves rise.
On the territory of the reserve there are no hotels or other accommodation for touriststherefore, vacationers often set up tents in this place. Most often they are built between the rocks.
How to get to the tract?
Dzhangul is a nearly five-kilometer part of the Tarkhankut coast, which is located between two bays - Ocheretay and Ternovaya. A primer leading to this place starts in the village of Olenevka.
The reserve can also be reached by sea. In this case, you first need to go through the bay of Thorn, you should navigate the sunken cargo ship near the place.
