The Crimean peninsula is widely known among tourists as the resorts of its southern coast, but one should not think that the tourist potential of Crimea is limited to this. Even if you are looking for a beach holiday, it should be remembered that the sea is here on all sides, and although subtropics and palm trees can only be found in the very south, in summer time the air temperature and water are good on all the Crimean coasts. At the same time, the majority of tourists still inevitably rush to the south and to major cities.

Whereas those who seek peace or simply want to save money, they choose small resort villages just to the north. If you consider such an approach to choosing a resort reasonable, be sure to pay attention to the village Mezhvodnoe.

Description and History

The village of Mezhvodnoe is located in the western part of the Crimean peninsula and administratively refers to the Black Sea region. This is a fairly large settlement with a population of over 2 thousand people, although some 10 years ago there were 1.5 times more people. The unusual location of the village is very conducive to its development as a resort.

It is sandwiched between the Yarylgach Bay of the Karkinitsky Bay of the Black Sea, as well as two lakes of the estuary type - Yarylgach and Dzharylgach. In the summer it is worth going here for a beach holiday, but mud treatment is possible almost all year round.

Experts agree that today the entire balneological potential of this place is not disclosed, therefore, Intervodny still has a developmental perspective.

The exact time of the origin of the village is unknown - scientists can only say that 4 thousand years ago people appeared here. In the IV-III centuries BC, the houses of the ancient Greeks, which did not exist for long, were discovered here - hostile barbarians lived too close. At the time of the Crimean Khanate, the village already existed and bore a Tatar name, still preserved by the surrounding objects - Yarylgach.

After the annexation of the Crimea to the Russian Empire in 1783, the local population began to leave here, and the map of 1817 shows that the village remains, but there are no more people in it. However, by 1842, people here again appeared - the Crimean Tatars began to settle the settlement again.

Nevertheless, after the Crimean War of 1853-1855, the village was again left by the entire local population, and after 10 years it was populated mainly by Russian people.

Where is and how to get?

If you are looking for Mezhvodnoe on the map of Crimea, pay attention to the projecting western tip of the peninsula. If you look from the direction of Simferopol, you need to choose the north-west direction - approximately at Evpatoria, which is the closest large city to the Interwatch. The village itself is located in the Black Sea region, 16 kilometers from the Chernomorskoe district center.

Most tourists arrive on the Crimean peninsula through Simferopol airport. Even in spite of the fact that Mezhvodnoe is a small village, even it has a direct passenger connection with the Crimean capital.

Direct bus runs only twice a day from the Central Bus Station, both flights depart after lunch. Estimated travel time is about 4 hours.

Given that direct flights from Simferopol to Mezhvodnoe do not go very often, it is worth considering an alternative travel option - with a transfer in the regional center of the Black Sea. Here buses from the Crimean capital go where more intensively, there are flights both from the Central bus station, and from the bus station-2 "Kurortnaya". Depending on the route, the trip can take 3-4 hours. Further, it is already much easier to get to Mezhvodnoy - there are local buses and taxis for this.

For those who prefer to travel in their own car, Interbridge is not a very convenient final destination, since even the Crimean bridge put into operation is located quite far from it.

If you nevertheless decide to travel by car from the Krasnodar Territory, 350 kilometers will have to be covered on the territory of Crimea, which takes 5-5.5 hours.

Most services recommend moving on main roadsalthough it is not the shortest way - first almost to Feodosia along the “Taurida” highway, turning right in time to Dzhankoy. Behind him, the direction leads to Krasnoperekopsk and Armyansk, on the road to which in Voininka you need to turn left to the Black Sea. Interbridge is located on the last leg of the course, so you won’t get lost.

Where to stay?

Interbridge is not a universally recognized resort of considerable fame, or just a large settlement, however, the fact that there are good opportunities for the development of balneological tourism could not affect the local infrastructure. Naturally, a significant proportion of places to stay in the village are boarding houses and recreation centers of sanatorium type with meals and medical procedures, because many people come here not only to relax, but also to improve their health.

Do not think that all such infrastructure is a purely Soviet building - for example, boarding house "Dolphin" It was built not so long ago and has already gained wide popularity among the guests of the western part of Crimea.

Here you can relax for 1200 rubles a day per person (2019), despite the fact that all services are already included in the price.

An alternative may be pension "Lydia"which is good because it offers rooms of different price categories - from economy to luxury. Of the additional features here are options for hanging out in the fresh air: table tennis, bicycle and so on.

For those who would not like to be treated, but simply relax in comfort on the sea away from the too popular resorts, a different type of housing is presented. Despite the fact that Mezhvodnoe has not yet reached the level of the resorts of the Southern Coast of Crimea, today there are already good hotels and hotels near the sea and with their own parking. In most cases, they were built in the last couple of decades, so they are not afraid of “Soviet comfort”. Highlight some of the most popular places.

  • Hotel "Villa Espanola" is one of the best and most expensive in the village. The settlement here is carried out in separate cottages. The apartments are equipped with all necessary appliances, each room has a small seating area adjacent to it.
  • Guest house "La Fleur" suitable for families with children - there is a separate playground for kids. Outsiders can not enter the territory because it is fenced. Cooking can be independent in the common kitchen, if you wish, you can immediately rent everything you need for a picnic.
  • Guest house "ART" It resembles a classic hotel - in a three-story building there are rooms for 2, 3 or 4 beds. There is a breakdown of the rooms by class: “de luxe” compared to the “standard” has much more household appliances like a multicooker, an electric kettle and a microwave. There are opportunities for organizing a picnic with barbecue or playing table tennis, as well as a playground.

As in other parts of the Crimea, the private sector forms a significant part of the housing supply in the lower price segment. It is possible to agree with the owner not only on site, but often through the Internet, however, here much harder to assess in advance the level of comfort provided.

It should immediately be said that this budget option is more suitable for unpretentious guests, because the maximum that the owner can provide is the level of the hotel “standard”, but with self-catering.

Best beaches

Despite its modest size, Mezhvodnoe is ready to offer guests a good selection of beaches for every taste. Consider a few popular places where both locals and tourists most often go.

  • Central beach of the village is the only one where there is infrastructure, but it is difficult to find fault with it - for a two thousand town, this is what is needed. The length of 1.5 kilometers with a width of 100 meters for Mezhvodny is enough - there is no excessive crowding here. The central beach is made of fine, clean sand. Although there is no organized parking, you can always park somewhere nearby.
  • Wild beaches of Yarylgach bay It will be interesting to those who agree to donate even a modest village infrastructure for recreation at sea in a place where there are no strangers at all or almost. Beaches are located south of the former oil base, which has not been functioning for a long time, and therefore does not pollute water. Nearby is a road that makes it easier for tourists to get here with their own car.
  • Beaches of Dzharylgach Lake They are not marine, but many tourists come here for the local estuary with healing mud. Who does not like to swim in salt water, that too should go here, especially since these places are different picturesque. There are not so many people here, because there is no beach infrastructure on the lake either. The beach itself, by the way, is relatively small - with a length of one kilometer its width is actually limited to a ten-meter strip along the water, since the sand is too compacted further from the reservoir.
    • Wild beaches of Black Cape located to the west of the village - where the local lighthouse. The cape separates a small bay from the sea, so that vacationers can not adapt to the weather, but choose the one that is preferred by them. There are several beach areas, and they are all quite small, but there are not many people here. There is no infrastructure, but this is one of the cleanest places in the village with breathtaking landscapes.

    sights

Unlike most of the Crimean resorts, there are no outstanding architectural sights in Mezhvodnoe - it’s just a small village with no old buildings. Due to this, you can only see the surrounding nature - the good that it is quite attractive. Local advise guests to visit the village on the Bakal Spit - a thin strip of land separating the sea and the lagoon.

The weather in reservoirs from different sides can be different at the same time - for example, the sea is agitated, and in the lagoon there is absolute calm. Among other things, from here it is very convenient to watch the dolphins who have chosen this coast.

Not far from Mezhvodnoye located and Cape Tarkhankut, surely known to most fans of the Soviet film industry as a place chosen by filmmakers for its beauty. A great many films showing scenes of distant shores were filmed here, the most famous ones being such tapes as “Amphibian Man” and “Pirates of the XX Century”. If you still want architecture, you can try take a walk and on the very interbridge, but these attractions are very few.

Of the religious buildings should be allocated unless Chapel of St. Olga, In the center of the square there is also an attractive fountain. If you are looking for a photozone, Be sure to take a walk up to the Lovers' Bench. Lovers of marine romance may also find it interesting lighthouse, which is noted for a somewhat unusual architecture.

For those who have come on vacation for a long time and have already had time to get enough of beaches and impressive local landscapes, an excursion to major cities of Crimea can be interesting. The southern coast, which is usually carried not only for sunbathing and swimming, but also for sightseeing, is quite removed, but Evpatoria is relatively close. Mezhvodnoe connected with it by direct bus flights, which depart several times a day, to spend on the road to be 2-2.5 hours.

If suddenly you have a car, you can resolve the issue as quickly as possible - 71 kilometers on the local highway will pass by car in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    Recreation and entertainment

Being a relatively small village, remote from the main resort area, Mezhvodnoe does not offer the visiting tourist any incredible entertainment, except for those that can be organized in any coastal village of the same size. For adults, there are actually only 2 options for an unusual pastime - kiting and fishing.

Kiting for many people may be of considerable interest, because not all of our fellow citizens are regularly at sea. This sport resembles windsurfing, only here the movement on the waves is carried out due to the thrust of a simultaneously launched kite.

Naturally, this requires certain skills, but among the locals there are several people who call themselves instructors. These same people will rent to curious tourists for rent everything they need for the first lesson, so if you have long dreamed of or just got bored, why not try it.

Fishing is more interesting for men, because even a typical domestic fisherman who is used to medium-sized rivers or small lakes, it will be interesting to try his luck by throwing a hook into the real sea. By negotiating with local residents, you can make the process as interesting as possible - for example, rent a boat and get to a certain distance from the coast.

In this case, practical fishing can be combined with a purely aesthetic occupation in the form of a sea walk, which the lady can also like.

There are no more options for children, and all of them are located on the embankment, which is the focus of life in the summer. All that Mevvodnoe offers to kids is a small amusement park, where there are trampolines, labyrinths and the “nail of the program” - the Ferris wheel. Nearby is also located mini-zoo "Teremok"but only pets are represented here.

In order to entertain a bored child, you will still have to go to Evpatoria, where there is an aquarium, a terrarium and a dolphinarium.

The choice of catering establishments is also not too large, but still it is quite possible to eat tasty food in Mezhvodny. At least worth a look at "Octopus", where you can taste dishes of all local cuisines - Russian, Tatar and Ukrainian, and in the evening one of the main discotheques of the village begins here.

For European cuisine and interesting cocktails should go to another cafe - Sunrise. Finally, on the seashore, you just need to taste the local seafood, so you should include a visit to a fish tavern on a gastronomic tour of the public institutions of Mezhvodny.

If you search on the Internet for people's opinions about the Inter-water and rest in it, it turns out that not everyone has such an experience - only a very small percentage of holidaymakers arriving on the Crimean peninsula travel here. The main motivation of such tourists is either to find the cheapest option for a holiday at sea, or to try to get treatment with mud.

It will not be possible to find sublimely laudatory comments about Mezhvodnoe - it’s just a small village with a minimum of infrastructure that just got lucky with a good location. If vacationers are undemanding people, they may well like it here, given the calmness of the local situation and the affordable prices for all basic services. If you are looking for a village where you could just sunbathe and swim, then it is worth going here - all conditions are fulfilled.

Criticism is usually associated with the fact that, in the understanding of many people, Interwater is not a resort at all. There is no impressive tourist infrastructure here, there is no place to take the child, you yourself will not be particularly entertained, and 2 hours by bus to Evpatoria. Even the spa direction here is still very poorly developed, despite the good potential of this place.
