Rest in the village of Peace in the Crimea
Crimea attracts tourists most of all with its southern coast, where the subtropical climate reigns, but it would be unfair to ignore the rest of the peninsula. The sea washes the Crimea from all sides, in summer the heat is about the same in the subtropics and in temperate climates, and although the infrastructure of the resorts outside the southern coast is relatively lame, but here the influx of tourists is less and the prices do not bite. If all these arguments seem worthy of you to go to the Crimean peninsula and check everything personally, pay attention to the village of Mirny.
Description and History
If it is necessary to find Mirny settlement on the map of the Crimean peninsula, pay attention to the projecting western part. On any decent terrain scheme Evpatoria will be marked, our object is located to the west of it, also near the sea coast.
Administratively urban village subordinate to Evpatoria, although it is located 28 kilometers from it. The water here is practically from all sides - the Black Sea coast is located in the southwest quarter, Donuzlav Lake is located in the northwest, and a small lake Oyburskoe. The lakes of the western part of Crimea are interesting to visitors thanks to their healing mud - This is one of the main reasons why this region is developing in tourism.
Today, the population of Mirny is more than 4 thousand people, which makes it possible to speak of it as a large settlement with all the necessary infrastructure.
A significant disadvantage for the town is that it has absolutely no history - it’s a big minus against the rest of the resorts of Crimea. In 1961, these were uninhabited places where the Soviet military began to build a naval garrison, for which purpose Lake Donuzlav, which was completely separate, was specifically connected to the sea. The beginning of the village was put under construction apartment buildings for the military and their families, since a military airfield and a port were built (and still have survived) nearby.
How to get there?
If you, like most tourists, arrived on the peninsula by plane through the Simferopol airport, it’s easy for you to get to Mirny. From Simferopol Bus Station-2 "Kurortnaya" several times a day, direct flights depart to the village, which will take you directly to the place in two and a quarter of an hour and approximately 350 rubles. Not all of these flights are convenient for arrivals, since most of them depart after lunch.
To adjust to the schedule, you can first go to Evpatoria, where buses leave from both bus stations of the city much more often and at any time of the day.
For those who decide to get from the Krasnodar Territory on their own car, Peace will not be the most logical choice - it is located on the opposite end of the peninsula from the Crimean bridge. The distance along the roads from Kerch, located adjacent to the exit from the bridge, to Mirny leaves 299 kilometers, by car you can overcome them in about 4.5-5 hours.
The advantage of the route is that it is problematic to get lost - most of you need to go under the signs to Simferopol, after him - to Saki and Yevpatoria, then keep the previous direction of movement and will soon get to the final point.
Where to stay?
For inexperienced tourists, this will be a surprise, but Mirny is located quite far from the sea coast - approximately 2 kilometers will have to be walked to it. The village is directly adjacent to the neighboring village of Popovka, Saksky district, and here it is really located right on the shore, therefore, choosing housing, be careful.
Despite the fact that the town itself is rather small There are quite a few options for settling in it, especially considering the neighboring Popovka. In Peace itself, this is somewhat simpler - because of the distance from the sea, there are fewer guests, but the private sector is able to offer a wide variety of apartments. This happened because in the last decades military activity in the village was greatly reduced, many local people left, because in the town a lot of empty housing remained, which is rented out entirely as well as private rooms.
If you come by car, such an inexpensive settlement option should interest you, because the problem of distance is solved.
Hotels are even present directly in Mirny, which is surprising, given its distance from the sea. Again, due to their not very successful location, typical Crimean price markup can be avoided.
Judging by the comments on specialized sites, a sample of local chic is Kolibri Hotel, where there is even food in your own cafe. From other similar institutions, but the level is still modest, it should be highlighted the Mirny complex and the Chaika mini-hotel. The latter is located on the border with Popovka, so that from it to the sea is already relatively close.
If the housing is located on the seashore and is listed in Mirny, then this is not necessarily a trick of wording, just the object is located outside the village as such - most likely on the so-called South Spit. There, the choice of housing is already much more diverse, there are resorts and motels, hotels and guest houses - rooms can be found for every taste and all price categories.
The advantage of the settlement here is that you live on a strip of land 400 meters wide, on the one hand there will be the sea, and on the other - Donuzlav, but the basic infrastructure will be far away. For this reason Neptune and Chernomorets complexes are not very advised for those who are looking for impressive amenities - these are the same apartments.
Hotel "Donuz LOVE", It probably provides the most extensive opportunities for guests - fishing and windsurfing and diving are organized for you. You can play table tennis, go horse riding, rent a bike or just sing karaoke. Elling "Golden Sand" offers other interesting services - for example, here you can rent a car or arrange for the delivery of products directly to your room. Worth noting also hotel "Christie" which has as many as 4 stars, which is very cool for such a small and not very popular resort.
Best beaches
The main beaches of Mirny are traditionally those that are located in its main resort area - on the South Spit, towards the sea. Here they are made of sand, which, unlike Evpatoria or any other, has a characteristic whitish (rather than yellow) color.
Many vacationers with this color of sand associate the amazing purity of coastal waters, for which turbidity is not typical.
Lake Donuzlav also attracts holiday-makers, but it should be noted that there are no full-fledged beaches in the form in which most of those who are going on vacation represent them. The great advantage of the lake is that it is shallow - the water here gets warm very quickly, and children and those who cannot swim can swim without fear.
Lake Oybur and does not have beaches in the literal sense of the word, but if you already come to rest in Mirny, it is simply necessary to visit here. This is one of the main attractions of this whole area - at least for the local brine, curative mud and blue clay, tourists come here in droves.
sights
Despite the modest size of the village and its short history, there are many sights in it, albeit not historical. Once there, be sure to inspect the following objects.
- Republic of Kazantip. For the “club” youth of the whole past and the first half of this decade, the outskirts of Mirny were a dream - it was here that the famous electronic music festival was held for many years. Formally, he was assigned to the neighboring Popovka, but was not conducted directly in it, therefore it would be fair to say that both localities are related to him.
At the same time, after the annexation of the Crimean Peninsula to Russia, the legendary event was banned by the new authorities, however many visitors still ask the local to show where the main party of the post-Soviet space was once held.
- Wind power plant. In the last decade, even in our territories, more and more attention began to be paid to "green" technologies for generating electricity from renewable sources, and yet what you see here will seem a wonder to the majority of citizens. The total number of "mills" is more than one hundred and fifty. They are located on the part of the village of Krylovka - there you can make stunningly atmospheric photos.
- Recreation center "Steppe harbor". Such objects are relatively rare to be considered landmarks, but in this case everything is justified, since there is an unusual dolphinarium next to it - fighting dolphins live in it. Despite the terrible name, visitors are allowed the closest contact with animals - though, strictly, subject to the presence of a coach.
What is interesting, the institution provides the opportunity to organize here your corporate event or any other event, and after all the birthday with dolphins is really original.
- Lake Donuzlav. Many vacationers leave from here without knowing that the reservoir into which they had dipped is recognized as a landmark. No wonder - even Greenpeace considers the Donuzlav neighborhood to be the cleanest region in the entire Black Sea region, and its mud is considered one of the most useful in the world. Interestingly, half a century ago the water in the lake was fresh, but the military decided that it was a great place to build a seaport, and dug a thin pour. Due to this, the resort South Spit has now appeared, and the Donuzlav lake has become moderately salty - the sea water here is mixed with spring water.
Recreation and entertainment
While the above-mentioned electronic music festival existed, it was precisely this entertainment on the scale of Mirny that was the most famous - it determined the local high season, because a huge number of young people went to the Crimea specifically to get here. Today, Kazantip is no longer being held, however, the hotels located in the village still offer some interesting options for hanging out.
In addition to the banal sunbathing and bathing, tourists are also attracted by the opportunity to test themselves in the role the diver. At several points on the territory of the same South Spit, you can rent everything you need for this, go through a short briefing and, together with an instructor, dive into the depths to see what the local underwater world looks like.
For the Crimea, such entertainment is not a real wonder, but the South Coast will cost you crazy money, and here almost every guest of Mirny has the opportunity to diversify his leisure time.
For men, fun can be fishing, for fishing in the sea is not at all the same as in a river or a small pond.It is possible to agree with the locals to go out to sea in a motor boat or a small boat - far from the coast, the mining, not frightened by shallow water and an abundance of swimmers, will be much more impressive.
After this, when you come to a meeting with friends, you will be able to absolutely honestly raise your hands to the side, showing what kind of prey you come across in life. For women, such a boat trip can also be interesting, especially if the boat suggests some minimal amenities for the ladies.
Horseback riding is another local attraction worth seeing. On the basis of several local hotels they provide horse riding training, you can immediately rent a horse and ride around the area with a sightseeing tour. Despite the fact that it is usually customary to praise the beauty of the mountainous and subtropical Crimea, the steppe is also beautiful in its own way, especially since these places have been recognized as ecologically clean.
If you still have a bike as a transport, you can rent it too.
As befits a Crimean beach, it even in itself offers certain entertainments, which, however, are mainly aimed at children and young people. It has all the typical seaside rides - various slides and mini pools. You can ride a banana or even try to master the skill of windsurfing - although this is not the top spot for this, it will do for a test.
Finally, you need to use the fact that you are in close proximity to the sea, and be sure to try the local seafood. There are no particularly prominent catering establishments here - of the expensive ones, one can only mention “Teremok”, but reviews about it are written by contradictory ones. In extreme cases, the products can be bought on the local market and cooked on their own.
Reviews
Mirny is a relatively small village that would never have become a resort if it were located anywhere else. However, the town was lucky, and the warm sea for a couple of salt lakes and their healing mud attracts tourists here. Reviews about vacation here you can read a variety.
Who is not particularly picky about the infrastructure, speaks well about the rest here - the relative silence of this place after the noisy Yalta or Alushta is simply fascinating. Holidays here can not be called wild, because there is entertainment such as surfing and diving - just do not have any water parks and things like that, but there is a dolphinarium.
Cheap, beautiful and useful - in short, you can characterize the rest in Mirny.
This place is usually criticized by young people - very often you can read that after closing Kazantip there was absolutely nothing to do here. Having lost its main tourist attraction, the town risks losing everything else, because local people began to receive less profits and gradually leave here.
