A bit of history
Even in ancient times in the IV century BC. e. on the site of the modern settlement there were long choirs of Chersonesos. Centuries were replaced, rulers and in the II century BC. e. a Scythian-Sarmatian population appeared on the territory of the modern Okunevka. For the first time, the village of Okunevka is mentioned in the documentary Cameral Description of the Crimea in 1784 under the name of Tarpanci.
After the annexation of the Crimea to Russia in 1783, the rulers of Russia each in their own way engaged in the territorial transformations of the peninsula. In the course of these transformations, the village of Tarpanchi belonged to the Novorossiysk province, now to the Tauride province, then to the Yevpatoria district. According to Vedomosti about volosts and settlements of April 19, 1806, it is written about the village of Tarpanchi that there are 10 courtyards in it, the population consists of Crimean Tatars.
Crimean War of 1853-56 made her changes to the development of the village. In the course of military actions, Tarpanchi was completely destroyed, and the Tatars left the acquired place, having moved to Turkey. For several years no one lived on this territory, but after the forced relocation of state peasants from the central Russian and Ukrainian provinces, life in the village resumed. According to the information of 1864, in the List of Populated Places of the Tavricheskaya Governorate, Tarpanchi is a Russian village with 6 yards, 45 inhabitants, near the Black Sea.
In the Memorial Book of the Tauride Province for 1900, the changed name of the village is recorded - Tarpanchi-Biyuk with four yards, with a Russian population of 36 people. With the advent of Soviet power in Crimea, there were again changes in administrative boundaries, volosts were abolished, counties changed, the names of settlements changed.
From 1922 to 1948, according to the Tarpanchi-Biyuk documents, they signed Beshi, then they divided into two settlements - Tarpanchi and Biyuk, then they connected them again, and only in 1948, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of May 18, the permanent name was fixed to the village - Okunevka.
