On the territory of the Crimea there are many secluded corners where tourism is poorly developed so far, but that's the beauty of it, since there are not a lot of people and the beaches remain clean. One of these places is Olenevka, located on the west.

Description

Cape Tarkhankut is considered to be the most western point of the Crimea; a small village Olenevka is located not far from it at a distance of 5 kilometers. The local landscape is remarkable for its white cliffs and crystal clear water and air. On this side of the peninsula, nature remained pristine, because the least touched by man.

The outskirts of the village - not only a place with amazing nature, but also an excellent solution for the rest of people who want to spend it in silence and solitude. The area is ecologically clean due to the absence of major highways and industrial enterprises nearby.

Most often, this area is chosen for recreation by divers, surfers, those who like to enjoy camping and sleeping in tents. Local authorities also could not help but note the advantages of the local climate and nature, therefore Olenevka was chosen in 2016 as the venue for the festival, which was named Crimea-Extreme.

Indeed, this is a unique place for diving, because the water is crystal clear and the underwater world of the peninsula is clearly visible.

Sandy beaches here do not differ in beauty from the Maldivian ones, white amazing sand lies on the shore. From the village to the shore the road takes no more than 10 minutes, which is very convenient. The rocky coast stretches 10 kilometers to the south-east. These places are known as Big and Small Atlesh.

Appearance history

After the archaeological excavations, a little more was known about Olenevka and its surroundings. According to scientists, the first settlement appeared here in ancient times. It was a Greek town of Chersonesus choir.

The total area of the settlement, dated VI century, was 3.2 hectares. According to the evidence found, the town was well fortified, and its population in the first century AD changed to Scythian.

The first mention of the village can be found in the Cameral description of the Crimea. The document is dated 1784 year. The village after the Crimea joined Russia, became part of the Evpatoria district, but it happened later.

Pavlov's reforms took place from 1796 to 1802, the settlement during this period was transferred to Akmechetsky district and became part of Novorossiysk province. After that there were a few more shifts in administrative division.

According to available historical data, all local residents were forced to go to Turkey, where they settled after. It was the first wave of emigration, provoked by General Popov. After buying them a decent share of local land, he brought Nogais here. By 1806 there were 43 courtyards, 268 inhabitants lived in them.

In 1800, another village was formed in the neighborhood - Stepanovka, slightly larger. 382 people lived on its territory, but this is the only document where mention of the settlement is found, since in the subsequent period the terrain is marked as empty on all maps. Only in 1820, Popov began to relocate his peasants to an already ready place.

Touched the village and the reforms of Alexander II. During this period, a detailed census of local residents was conducted. By that time, two fish factories had been built here and one orchard planted. On the map of Karaj (the former name of Olenevka) was marked by the Russian settlement, on the territory of which in 1876 a rescue station was organized. After 3 years, the school began to work here, and in 1886 the first telegraph appeared. In 1887, the number of local residents increased to 536.

The next reform took place in 1890, when the settlement was referred to Kunansky volost, the number of inhabitants on the available 110 yards was 826 people. In 1921, the parish made a decision to abolish, as indicated by the surviving decree of Krymrevkom. Since then, Evpatoria district began to exist. The settlement of Karaj was part of the Evpatoria district.

The modern name Olenevka received only in August 1945.

Where is and how to get?

The distance from Simferopol to Olenevka is 160 kilometers. On the map you can easily find the village, if we consider the western region of the peninsula.

You can reach Olenevka by various means of transport.

If you choose a plane, you will first have to fly to Simferopol, where not so long ago a new terminal was opened. From Moscow to the destination flight takes an average of 3 hours. There are enough flights, so there are no problems with buying a ticket.

From the airport, you can get from Simferopol to Olenevka either by public transport or by taxi or even a rented car. If you choose a regular bus, you will have to make a transfer in Evpatoria, since there is no direct flight from the airport to Olenevka.

The bus to Evpatoria runs infrequently, you can just get to the bus station, where there are more opportunities. A trolley bus number 8, 9, 11 will do for this. If it is nevertheless decided to wait for transport, then you need a bus number 49.

In the future, it is planned to open a railway bridge to the Crimea, but while it is being completed, now it will take a long time to get by rail from the central part of Russia. The end point is Adler or Krasnodar, from there by bus to the Crimea, then by local transport to Olenevka.

You can take a taxi from the airport in Simferopol to the settlement, but it is worth considering that the cost of the trip is 25 rubles per kilometer.

In this case, you can think about going on a vacation in your own car (or taking a rented car). After arriving by car to Kerch, you will need to cross first the Crimean Bridge, then go onto the E97 road, which leads to Feodosiya, then take the P22 to Simferopol, and then follow the P25 to Evpatoria. After that, it is still necessary to drive a large section of the road along T0108, which will lead to the Black Sea, and only there you will need to get to Revolution Street, which will lead to the settlement.

    Best beaches

The coast on the outskirts of Olenevka is almost completely covered with sand, which is why this area is so popular. The beaches are clean, but the season does not last too long, since it becomes cool in the west of Crimea in September.

In the summer there are always a lot of tourists, but not all areas are available for swimming. For example, the area around the Tarkhankut lighthouse is a restricted area where swimming is prohibited. As such, the beach is not here, but there are small areas where you can quite comfortably sit among large boulders. This is not the best place to relax with children, but divers will surely like it, as the water remains crystal clear all the time.

It is in the vicinity of Olenevka that the so-called White Beach or the Crimean Maldives is located. Getting to it from the land is not so easy, you will need to apply the simple climbing skills. The easiest way is to sail in a kayak or rubber inflatable boat. Not far from the lighthouse there is always the possibility to rent a boat, then the owner will return after you to the beach when necessary.

This colorful and secluded place is surrounded by white rocks. At the bottom of the sea and along the coast lies coarse white sand, which is similar to the one in the Maldives. However, not the whole coastline is perfect here to soak up the sun, but since there are not many people, the place can always be found.

You can often see blue jellyfish in the water, some tourists even hunt them. Here they also catch crabs.

There is another attractive place in the vicinity of the settlement - the Ocheretay bay with a gentle shore. It is easy to find on the outskirts of Tarkankutia Park. Locals say that once there was a camp, where they brought up a squad of fur seals. Today the place is very popular with tourists who seek solitude. On the territory there is a well with drinking water.

The sea in the bay is always calm, the entrance to the sea is gradual. But not everything is as perfect as we would like, since the gas pipeline runs here, so the zone is closed for visitors. But this is only in theory, in practice there is an entrance from the side of a dirt road, although it is not very convenient.

Rumor has it that shells from World War II are still at the bottom, but this is an unconfirmed fact, so they often come here with tents, because there is access to drinking water.

Those who are more interested in primeval nature and silence, and not convenience, can offer the Lazy Beach, which can be found closer to Atlesh. There are sheer cliffs for climbers and clear sea for all who want to just enjoy the sea and sand.

The terrain is characterized by the presence of large boulders, but the descent to the sea is gradual, convenient, there are areas where the inflatable mattress can easily be located. Not far from the descent there is a parking lot, you can drive up by car on the way and leave it here until the evening.

It should be understood that the wilderness here is characterized by the impressive depth of the sea. To relax on this beach, you should be confident in their abilities. Depth is increasing rapidly, so it is not suitable for children.

Of all the beaches that Olenevka can offer, the main one remains one of the most popular. He was here nicknamed by the local Crimean Florida, because in fact this place fits the definition of paradise on earth. The embankment goes exactly here, nearby there are comfortable hotels.

This place is most affected by man, and therefore the most cultivated. There are umbrellas and sun beds, however, you have to pay for them. For convenience, dressing rooms and showers were installed throughout the beach. Here you can eat, without leaving the beach, enjoy wine and other drinks, enjoy smoked fish.

The length of the coastline is 3 kilometers, the width of the beach is 100 meters. Log into the sea is ideal for families with children. Just because there is a lot of space, there are equipped playgrounds for beach volleyball.

Will enjoy on vacation and those who are accustomed to actively spend holidays. Tourists are offered a variety of water rides, popular with youth kiting - water skiing with a parachute.
