The southern coast of Crimea is notable for the fact that here a zone suitable for a wonderful summer holiday stretched for tens of kilometers almost continuously. Over the decades of development of the resort area, a minimal infrastructure has been created, allowing to spend holidays not only in rather noisy cities with a lively nightlife, but also in small, quiet villages. The exception is not the village of Rybachye, located near Alushta.

Description and History

Modern Fishing is not so easy to find on the map - the population of the village is less than a thousand peopletherefore, a rather detailed plan of the Crimea is needed so that it is depicted there. If the map got really detailed, then another problem may arise - the desired object is simply lost among dozens of others. To find fishing, find on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula Alushta - it, as a rather large tourist center, is indicated on any maps of the Crimea.

Northeast of it along the coast should be Zander - Another center of tourism, but a little smaller, there is a direct road between them. It is on this road that our final destination is located.

If there are no settlements smaller than the same Alushta and Sudak on your map, you should know that the distance to the first one on the mentioned highway is about 30 km, and to Sudak - almost twice as far.

Curious that even in such a small village the history is quite ancient. Some scientists believe that Tuak (as the Rybache was called until 1945) arose a good two thousand years ago, and in the VIII century the Greeks from Byzantium began to arrive here in large numbers. However, no one will tell in detail about those times, and scant information is taken from sources that do not cause much confidence. In 1365, this coast passed under the control of the Genoese.

Although there is no list of settlements in the document signed then, then, starting from 1385, a settlement referred to as the Genoese de Buzult is mentioned at the same place. In 1475, the rule of the Genoese was discontinued, since the territory came under the control of the Ottomans, but for about two hundred years after that Tuak was still a predominantly Christian village. After that, the population structure began to change rapidly, in 1805 (after joining Russia), 203 inhabitants lived in the village, among whom there were no representatives of any other nationality except the Crimean Tatars.

In the next century and a half, nothing particularly interesting happened here - the village grew 6-7 times, periodically passing into submission from Yalta to Alushta and back, but still remained predominantly Muslim.

After the deportation of the Crimean Tatars in 1944, the village was depopulated for some time, but in subsequent decades its present national composition, consisting mainly of Slavs, was formed. Today it is an ordinary village with 1,500 streets and two dozen streets and lanes. Apart from the sea and some tourist infrastructure, the same village can be found in any region of the country.

Weather

The weather in Rybachy almost exactly corresponds to the weather conditions in Yalta and any other point of the South Coast of Crimea, with the only difference that winters are a little bit colder here - literally 1 degree. The territory of Big Alushta, which also includes this village, is protected from the north by the Crimean Mountains, which makes this territory subtropical climate. However, there are two passes nearby, through which there is still an intensive exchange of air masses with the steppe zone of the Crimea, where a moderate climate already prevails.

The air humidity here is consistently high, it usually exceeds 70%, at the same time, precipitation falls mainly in the winter - from the average annual 427 mm for the three summer months a total of only 80 are accounted for. Summer is traditionally hot.

Fishing boasts a huge number of sunny days. For him, even 2,300 hours a year is by no means the limit. This resort can be interesting to “walrus” at any time of the year, because the water here rarely cools down to temperatures below +8 degrees even in winter, but the main swimming season is only at the time when the water temperature reaches at least +17 degrees - such figures are real from May to October.

If we talk about the peak of the tourist season, it falls on the period from July to Septemberwhen the water does not even cool at night to cool to below +22 degrees. Because of the presence of the above passes, Rybachy is relatively windy - in the summer heat it is unlikely to be a disadvantage, but due to the more severe winter, the species diversity of the same palm trees is slightly less than in neighboring Yalta.

However, such winds are not only not harmful, but also beneficial to health, even Botkin wrote that in Big Alushta the climate is healthier precisely due to regular air exchange.

How to get to the village?

Today, most tourists coming to the Crimea, fall to the peninsula either through the Crimean bridge, or through the airport of Simferopol. You need to consider these options independently of each other.

The Crimean Bridge, which was opened not so long ago, made it possible to simplify automobile communication with the Krasnodar Territory, therefore Kuban residents can come to Rybachye and on their own cars. Once in Kerch, you need to choose direction to Feodosiaand then move along the highway along the Black Sea via Koktebel and Sudak in the direction of Alushta and Yalta. The length of the route on the territory of the Crimean peninsula will be a little over 200 kilometers, but because of the winding mountain sections of the road one should not count on too high driving speed - overcoming the site may take four hours.

Crimea also has a bus service to various European regions of Russia, organized across the bridge, but finding a bus that would go through Rybachye would be rather difficult. You can try to get with transfers, but if you went out not in Simferopol, the movement may not be so lively.

Simferopol is the final destination for many buses from the “mainland”, as well as the main (in fact, the only) air gates of the Crimeatherefore, a huge part of tourists at first inevitably falls exactly here. Despite the good bus service from the airport to different regions of the peninsula, it’s difficult to get directly into Rybachye from there — transport goes either to Alushta or Sudak, not passing along the highway between them.

The most convenient way to get from Simferopol airport with a transfer in Alushta - there are direct flights from the airport. Alternatively, you can from the airport first get to the Simferopol bus station-2 "Resort" - From here several times a day, direct buses go to Rybachye, which in 2 hours and 283 rubles will take you directly to the place.

As an additional tourist attraction you can come to Alushta and trolley bus - not every person can boast that he rode a “horned cattle” at least once in his life through a mountain forest.

If you still decide to make a transfer in Alushta, you can get to Rybachye, for example, with the same buses from Simferopol, which have an intermediate station here.

On this section, the message is a bit more lively, but due to the fact that it is here that the most difficult part of the road runs, the last 30 kilometers of the road will stretch for a good hour.

Housing

Given the tourist orientation of the local economy, you can settle in Rybachy in completely different rooms, representing fundamentally different conditions. Because of the modest size of the village itself and fierce competition from the same Alushta and Sudak, Rybachye cannot boast of having first-class hotels. If you want to relax on a grand scale and a certain taste (by local standards), you will most likely be advised Hotel "Frigate Santa Maria".

It has only 2 stars, there is no pool here, but the concept itself is interesting, according to which the hotel is it is a ship, cabins are surrendered in it. From the conveniences it is possible to single out perhaps the location on the first line, right on the seashore, and also the organization of transfers from Simferopol, excursions to neighboring cities and sea trips.

Unusual services are provided by boarding house "Favor" - This is a good destination for Orthodox believers. In addition to the typical services provided by the majority of similar boarding houses on the Crimean peninsula, there are such advantages as meals organized with an eye to the post, watching Orthodox films and organizing all religious rituals by the staff, which is highly valued by a certain category of guests.

In general, Rybachye does not have a large variety of these hotels: in fact, most of the housing here is represented in the private sector, where the locals did everything to squeeze the most out of their land. Full cottage villages, united in a single hotel, is not observed here, but some owners rent their cottages, while they themselves live elsewhere.

If the constant presence of the owners in the yard does not bother you, you can rent a guest house. Comparison of prices shows that, all other things being equal in terms of comfort, the private sector can offer prices almost twice as low as those offered in local hotels.

Another thing is that you need to choose carefully - some of the "business initiatives" of local cause concern about compliance with safety regulations.

A very special type of accommodation for tourists in Rybachy, as in some other settlements of the Southern Coast of Crimea, are boathouses. In fact, this is a former garage for a boat, converted into a living room. The great advantage of such living is the extreme proximity of the sea and relatively low prices, but the big question is how well the owners managed to provide comfort in such a place.

Lovers of wild and semi-wild rest can be interesting camping - similar infrastructure in the vicinity of the village too. There is even an auto camp, where you can come by car and live on the basis of your car and tent, relying on the staff on the security issues.

sights

A relatively small village, which is formerly Tuak, cannot predictably boast an abundance of its own sights. Most holidaymakers here are people who want to diversify their vacation with a minimal excursion program, go on trips to Yalta, Alushta and Sudak. Fortunately, you can get there by public transport and with a guided tour organized by local businessmen.

However, if you are in the Crimea, even the picturesque surroundings can be curious.

Local residents and avid visitors to the village would probably advise to stroll towards Bay of Love. It is not far from the village, and the path to the destination leads along the edge of a steep cliff, from where there is a beautiful view of the sea distance. The harbor is very quiet and the port is not, and the water here is surprisingly clear - in calm weather the bottom is clearly visible to a depth of more than human growth. They organize not only trips, but also romantic boat rafting.

Of the architectural delights located in the immediate vicinity, it is worth paying particular attention to Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, located near the village of Malorechenskoye. Fans of old architecture will be disappointed, because the temple was built only in 2007, but it is extremely unusual in appearance, since it is also a beacon.

In contrast to the absolute majority of other Orthodox churches, this one is completely devoid of the traditional dome - it is crowned only with a cross raised high above the roof. Below it, interestingly, is the illuminated ball, which symbolizes our planet, and at the same time signals the sailors about the proximity of land.

The creators conceived this temple as a monument to all who did not survive in shipwrecks.

Waterfall Jur-Jur It is located as much as 15 kilometers from Rybachiy, but those who are not afraid of hiking and just taking long walks are simply obliged to go to it. This is the most impressive waterfall of Crimea - the height of the fall is 15 meters, and although there are waterfalls on the peninsula and higher, they are scarce, while this one is powerful.

A reserve is organized around the waterfall - you will have to pay a symbolic amount for the visit, but in return you will get access to equipped paths and breathtaking observation platforms. You can drive up closer to the waterfall from Rybachiy and by car, if you agree with someone from the local, but In general, even a walk will bring real pleasure to all lovers of the mountains.

Recreation and entertainment

Even if you are quite positive about Fishing, it's hard not to admit that this village does not pull into the title of a full-fledged beach resort. This is just a seaside village, the locals of which are doing everything possible to attract guests. For this reason, the main local object around which all life revolves is the local beach. Entertainment is there, but they are quite traditional - the same child can ride a banana or catamaran, but no more.

The local embankment may disappoint an unprepared holidaymaker - in many respects it’s just a stretch of road connecting Alushta with Theodosia.

If you expect that it offers a beautiful view of the sea, then you should not rely too much on it - it is decently built up on both sides, and some outstanding architecture along it is also not observed.

If you need to entertain children with something unusual, you should look into Marine Disaster Museum, located in nearby Malorechenskoye - his visit can be combined with a walk to the temple mentioned above.

The building itself looks quite picturesque, since it is designed in the form of a broken ship, and inside you can see a rich collection of things thrown on the beach by the sea. You can also watch movies about shipwrecks telling the story of famous marine accidents. There is no more serious infrastructure allowing children to rest in accordance with their best ideas, in Fisherman’s. As a bonus for kids, you can organize day trip to the water park in Alushta or even a dolphinarium located in Sudak.

By the same logic, in small Fish there are no outstanding restaurants - most tourists are catering to the bases themselves, where they stopped, or on their own if the private sector is selected, or through numerous outlets, among which it is difficult to choose one . In fact, all such establishments resemble ordinary fast food, and if you still want something more, you should visit one of the following establishments.

  • Cafe "Aladdin". Despite the oriental name, the cuisine here is predominantly European, although kebabs loved by all beachers are, of course, also on the menu. Visitors praise this place for the cordial welcome and high speed service.
  • Cafe "Grow belly". As the name implies, the creators of this institution consider their main goal to feed visitors to the dump. There may not be exquisite dishes, but it offers a good selection of meat and fish dishes.Prices are surprisingly democratic, so this place is in demand.
  • Restaurant "Provence". For such a small resort village this institution can be considered elite. The founders decided to develop a French theme, so southern France is present not only in the name, but also in the interior, and even in the music playing in the hall. The menu is not exactly French, but certain positions are reminiscent of this amazing country. This, so to speak, is a cultural institution, so if you are categorically against fast food, you should apply here.

Reviews

On the Internet you can find comments about the rest of the Fishing, aged in completely opposite colors. We venture to suggest that it all depends on how demanding you are for the conditions and how much you have to compare with this small Crimean resort.

Positive statements about Rybachiy are usually based on the opinion that this resort is rather calm, there is no hectic nightlife here. This is true, because here is really no clubs and discos, but loud music can sound from any fast food establishment and any car. Since there is really no other entertainment here, such a development is very likely.

If you are ready to easily give up water parks, dolphinariums, clubs and attractions for the sea as such, you might like it here.

Ogul criticism of this village is based on the fact that there is absolutely nothing to do here, and even the infrastructure that is present is not maintained in a decent condition or is completely built in violation of all architectural norms.. You can also find complaints about the contingent - here those who seek to save money and have a drink are often resting. At the same time, the prices for accommodation here are comparable to Egyptian in the best hotels.

On the features of recreation in the village, see below.
