Yalta in Crimea: climate features, list of beaches and attractions
Crimea is quite a popular resort of Russia due to the favorable climate, comfortable conditions, rich history and high saturation of tourist sites. And also there is an infrastructure, the importance of which for tourists cannot be overestimated. And among all this magnificence and diversity, Yalta is a pearl.
Features
The Russian city of Yalta is located on the southern part of the Crimean peninsula, which, in turn, is located in the Black Sea, which causes certain natural and climatic features.
First of all, the characteristics of the “marine” climate are characteristic of the Southern Coast of Crimea — relatively low fluctuations in temperature, warm winters, and not very hot summers for this climatic zone.
The subzero temperature in winter stably occurs only in the “core” of the peninsula, and the minus is very shallow - this is due to the predominance of the “continental” type.
Spring and autumn are quite gently changing places, since in the fall the thermal reserves of the Black Sea smooth out the decrease in temperature.
In the spring, the Black Sea gives a pleasant coolness.
In Crimea, it is rather dry everywhere, except for the northern slopes of the Crimean Mountains, the average annual rainfall hardly exceeds half a liter.
But even these slopes can hardly be called wet - there is just not arid.
The natural belt is characterized as moderate. - Northern subtropics, from the nature of the abundance of mountainous areas, steppe biomes.
Climate
If we take a closer look at the climate of the Crimean Peninsula, we can single out the following subzones: continental steppe, marine steppe, foothill forest-steppe, mountain forest and sub-Mediterranean.
The first subzone is found mainly in the central part of the peninsula, reaching a point just below its midpoint in latitude. And also it extends to a significant part of the Kerch Peninsula.
The steppe sea subzone is found in a thin strip along the western coast of Crimea, and also covers the part of the Crimean peninsula that is not occupied by the continental subzone. In this space are located the famous resort cities of Evpatoria and Saki.
Piedmont forest-steppe zone is located in the foothills of the Crimean Mountains (which occupy the southern part of the Crimean peninsula), in this subzone are Simferopol, Bakhchisarai.
The mountain forest subzone occupies the mountain range itself, there are no large cities there.
The sub-Mediterranean climate zone is the smallest and includes the narrow edge of the Southern coast of Crimea.
It is in this area and is the beautiful city of Yalta.
Yalta has a subtropical Mediterranean climate.
The average winter temperature is 4-5 degrees above zero. The swimming season is open from May and lasts until mid-October. During the swimming season, the average temperature of the water on the beaches does not fall below +20 degrees Celsius.
Housing
In Yalta, there are many opportunities for accommodation, including hotels, hotels, motels and resorts by the sea. But you can also rent housing from private persons or stay in a hostel.
The hotels are notable, for example, Mriya Resort & Spa.
From its advantages - a large range of price classes of rooms, free settling of children, luxury villas on the territory, located directly on the territory. And also has everything you need for outdoor activities, sports and leisure, 4 restaurants, a cinema and a nightclub.
Another hotel to which attention should be paid is “Yalta-Intourist”.
This hotel can offer a plentiful program of water activities: a heated Olympic swimming pool, a children's pool, a water bar. And also "Yalta-Intourist" can offer healing mud and other spa procedures. On the territory there is extensive landscaping, and in the hotel itself - comfortable rooms, as well as service services, where guests can enjoy a Swedish breakfast. Disadvantages are the high prices and the abundance of tourists in the season.
Thirdly, we will consider the Livadi spa hotel.
From the pleasant - this hotel can offer proximity to the coast, decent food, as well as health services and spa treatments. There is also an abundance of swimming pools and close access to some attractions. Among the shortcomings - cluttered sea view.
Among the resorts and sanatoriums deserves attention pension "Paradise", featuring a quiet, calm and almost homely atmosphere, proximity to the sea.
Abundant landscaping and “live” natural sound create a truly heavenly atmosphere. The guest houses have swimming pools. And also the whole area is equipped with buttons to call the staff, which to some extent increases comfort.
Next, we pay attention to the resort "Ai-Petri."
The territory of this recreation complex, as befits a sanatorium, is abundantly landscaped. Also, "Ai-Petri" offers a buffet and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, but the sanatorium has a difficult relief and therefore many stairs. In addition, there is a private sector on the territory of the sanatorium.
Interesting sanatorium "Mishor". This is a relatively cheap option, with a nearby beach and good infrastructure. Here holidaymakers expect a rich leisure program, so do not be bored. Of the minuses - the same type architecture.
From "Mishor" not far from the main attractions, especially close to the so-called "Swallow's Nest" and to the center of Yalta.
For tourists with a low budget may seem an attractive option to stay in a hostel.
The best hostel is the “Nest” institution, cozy and resembling a student dormitory. In the “Nest” there are apartments for 2, 4, 8 and 10 people, moreover, the last two options involve bunk beds. It is possible to book online in advance before arrival. Each guest, regardless of the capacity of the room, has a bed and a bedside table, a separate bathroom and free Wi-Fi.
There is a supermarket nearby, and the hostel itself has everything you need for cooking. Also there are safes, washing and ironing facilities.
Another interesting hostel is “The Dog.” It is surrounded by a garden and is located in a cozy atmosphere, but this hostel has only 5 rooms.
There is a common room for 10 people and rooms in which you can accommodate companies of 2 people. Rentals will have parking, safe, Wi-Fi and bike rental.
Best beaches
The main beach of Yalta - "Primorsky" is located next to the hotel "Oreanda". The beach is free, where to eat - cafes, shops, and you can also buy souvenirs. The length of the beach is about 400 meters, and the cover is pebble of medium size.
Next on our list will be "Massandrovsky" beach, which is by and large a complex of beaches with free admission, developed infrastructure and an abundant leisure program. The use of services on this beach is paid, and the price tag is not the lowest in Yalta.
"Massandra" beach is marked with a blue flag and is very popular during the swimming season.
Dolphin is one of the best beaches.
It is quite remote from the city center, clean and calm. This beach has a family vacation.
