And in 1992, the state of Denmark approved the Sokok cat breed (sometimes called the African Shorthair). The descendants were called as kadzonzo, which means "like the bark of a tree." Their ancestors are aboriginal Kenyan cats and feral domestic cats.

The International Cat Breeding Organization - FIFE - changed its name to Soukok, but most often it is still called Sokok. In the modern world there are about 100 individuals.

Cats are characterized by medium size, male individuals are predominantly larger. Weight can vary from 3 to 5 kilograms. It can be said that the representatives of this breed are long-livers, since they live for about 13–15 years, and some - for longer.

The shape of the head resembles a wedge, but on a strong neck. It is elongated, compared to the body, it seems small and flat. The cheekbones are quite expressive, which emphasizes the face of the individual. The ears are large in size, with numerous tassels on them. The deep and expressive eyes fascinate many cat lovers. The colors are different: from amber to greenish.

The breed itself is rather large, with a long body and paws. The musculature is very well developed. The hind legs are longer than the front ones, which creates the illusion that the cat is tiptoeing. The tail is of medium length and tapers towards the end.

The standard of coloring is marble tabby. The color palette can start with light shades of brown and end with dark brown. Although the coat is very short, almost without undercoat, it is still possible to notice a slight overflow in the light. Very rarely there are individuals with unusually beautiful snow color. Throughout the body are bands in the form of spirals and half rings.

Distinctive signs of color:

• necklace around the neck, not necessarily a fusion;
• the tip of the tail is always black;
• butterfly pattern on the back;
• on the forehead, you can see the broken letter “M”;
• A bull's eye pattern is visible on the side.

First of all, this breed is extremely active and energetic. They never sit still and ready to jump, run all day. This trait was transmitted from their ancient wild ancestors. People who have experience in breeding cats say that it is advisable to start up Sokok in private houses with a large area of ​​free space.

In addition to all the above, the representatives of the breed are very sociable creatures, but at the same time wayward and independent. They will not sit on their hands for a long time or annoy the owner - they may well organize the game themselves. An important feature should not be overlooked: cats become attached to people and the environment, so they endure moving very painfully. You should not be afraid for the child: they are always restrained and never will offend children.

The positive qualities include intelligence and intelligence. Cats can be quickly trained. They are very curious and always explore something new. Sokok quickly finds contact with other animals, such as dogs, which undoubtedly can be attributed to advantages. Pets have a great time at home while the owners are at work. In the evening, they happily meet them, showing affection for them.

The breed is very unpretentious. What about wool, it is rather short and does not require special care - it will be sufficient to comb the dead hairs with a special brush once a week. The best option would be a comb made from natural lint: it promotes good blood circulation throughout the body.

Bathing is a favorite activity of cats of this species. If you do not wash them for a long time, then if they wish, they will find a container with water. Wash should be no more than 1 time per month. Care of the ears and eyes is to wipe the quickly contaminated places with a cotton pad or a cloth moistened daily or every other day.

The pet will be grateful if you take it with you for a walk, but you should not refuse the fences so that the cat doesn't accidentally run away.
