Hydrophilic oil appeared on the Russian cosmetology market relatively recently. It looks like an ordinary vegetable, but has completely different features and characteristics. Its characteristic feature is the ability to dissolve in water.
What it is?
For evening cleansing of the skin, our compatriots most often use gels, tonics, lotions, micellar water is also popular, but all of these products often dry out the skin. That is why, as soon as the hydrophilic oil appeared on the domestic market, many immediately gave it preference. It rather gently affects the lipid layer of the skin, perfectly removes makeup, and can be used on all types of skin.
To evaluate the effectiveness of the tool, first you need to understand the theory of the issue.
Everyone knows from the school chemistry course that fatty substances do not have the ability to dissolve in water and mix with it - this is the nature, and no matter how intensely you interfere with them, a miracle does not occur - when the drops of oil are stirred, they are simply distributed throughout the entire water column and formed emulsion. After a few minutes they are separated from each other again. To prevent this, a special component — an emulsifier — is introduced into the oil; usually, polysorbate is used as such. It makes the emulsion more stable and imparts hydrophilic parameters.
The resulting product is completely hypoallergenic. Thus, we can safely say that hydrophilic oil is an extremely versatile care product for complete cleansing of the skin, its effective moisturizing and removal of cosmetic residues. From all other types of products with similar functionality, it differs by the ability to react with water already on the surface of the skin.
The tool was created by Korean scientists a few decades ago, but despite this, this technology was officially patented only in the second half of the last century in Japan.
Some women believe that this is, in general, a useless product, the love for which is explained by a simple tribute to fashion for everything Korean, but it is not. Those who have tried the tool, have already evaluated its effectiveness and undoubted advantages in comparison with peers. The product effectively removes even waterproof cosmetics. In the process of application, deep pore cleaning takes place, and in addition, a slight peeling and removal of the upper keratinous layer is performed.
Unlike the usual scrubs, this procedure does not dry the skin, and in comparison with conventional gels and light foams for washing produces a deeper cleaning, while the user does not have a feeling of tightness of the skin.
It is noteworthy that this is the only remedy that washes away the remedy marked “BB” - that is, a product that has a peculiarity to accumulate in the pores and to clog them thoroughly.
In contact with even a small amount of water remaining on the surface of the skin, the fat is converted into a white emulsion, which is quite simply washed off the face.
This tool is optimal for different types of skin:
- greasy;
- problematic with large pores;
- dry;
- with acne, inflammation and comedones;
- with rosacea;
- for the person affected by age changes.
What can be replaced?
Unfortunately, today it is impossible to find an inexpensive hydrophilic oil on the market in the low price segment, the cost of the product starts from 1000 rubles, so the tool can not be called affordable. However, this is not a reason to despair, because the analogue of this oil can be made independently at home. All that is needed for this is a little time and polysorbate, which can be purchased through online stores. Typically, this natural emulsifier is produced under the working title “Twin”, of course, it also costs money, but the total cost of the product will still be lower than that of the finished store oil.
To prepare the solution at home you will need:
- Twin-80, as well as Twin-20;
- 10-20 drops of any aromatic oil to taste;
- vitamins A and E - about 2 ml.
The emulsifier is diluted with water in a ratio of 1 to 9. "Tween-80" is used to dissolve the basic ingredients, and "Tween-20" is needed for esters. Adding vitamins causes the anti-aging effect of the drug, reduces wrinkles and stimulates increased elastane production.
After all the main ingredients are combined, it is necessary to put the solution in a cool dark place and take it out from there every day before use.
It should be noted that the desired effect can be achieved only with polysorbate, but sometimes they take its analogue - olivderm.
To prepare a cleansing hydrophilic oil based on it, it is necessary to prepare oil extracts:
- Jojoba - 30 ml;
- evening primrose - 5 ml;
- pink - 5 ml;
- and oliverm itself - 15 ml.
As in the previous case, all the necessary components are mixed and sent to storage.
It should be noted that Oliverm has a lower efficacy than polysorbate, therefore, you will notice results from the use of a cleansing agent only after 2-3 weeks, while polysorbate will allow to notice the difference already in the fourth application.
Composition
The main components of the hydrophilic oil are:
- oil base, which is about 80-95% of the total volume of the preparation, and absolutely any oil can be included - shea butter, as well as apricot, rose or jojoba;
- emulsifier is the main ingredient that causes the complete dissolution of the oily component in water and the ability to get deep into the pores and layers of the dermis, delicately cleaning and peeling them.
As a rule, the share of this component accounts for 5-15% of the total product.
In addition, the “hydrophilic” contains special care ingredients, such as fat-soluble vitamins A and E, as well as extracts of fragrant oils (lemon, and also rosemary or neroli), as well as a small amount of fruit acids - most often citric or malic acids are used.
Regular use of this product is guaranteed to have a high effect., expressed in improving the condition, appearance and color of the skin - literally after a few applications, it becomes fresh and healthy due to the fact that the product is distinguished not only deeply cleansing, but also a gentle caring effect.
Rating
Hydrophilic oil belongs to Asian products, so you can always find such a tool in the stores of Asian cosmetics - Korean or Japanese, as well as order through specialized Internet sites.

Means gently cleanses, while not giving a feeling of dryness and does not cause injury to the skin. The cost is about 1200 rubles.
Luxury segment hydrophilic oils are targeted at prosperous consumers.
Among the most effective are such.

In demand and products from Kosmetista.
Product analogs from the mass market sector have nothing to do with Asian products, they are all made by Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian enterprises and have a much lower efficiency. However, their cost is much lower.
Among the products in this category are the following.
"Magic of Morocco" from the company "Belita". Means well removes decorative cosmetics, cleans even the deepest pores, and also slightly tones the skin. The basic ingredients are grape oil and sesame extract.
"Argan" from the company "Spivak". This tool very gently cleanses the upper layers of the skin and nourishes it with nutrients, while there is no drying and desiccation of the dermis. The basic ingredients are extracts of almond and argon.

How to choose?
A wide range of hydrophilic oils on the stalls and price dispersion can confound any consumer. However, no need to get lost - if you follow the advice of experienced experts and cosmetologists, you can correctly choose a quality product that will be optimal for a particular skin type.
Firstly, it is necessary to pay attention to the composition of the product, it depends on the safety of use and the effectiveness of the effect on the dermis.
In the "gidrofilku" must necessarily include several types of vegetable oils, preferably - natural, but allowed the inclusion of analogues - mineral oils. Many are afraid of such a component, but completely in vain: the oils obtained from a mixture of refined petroleum fats effectively cleanse and prevent the dermis from drying out, in addition, they are universal.
Secondly, try to choose a product in accordance with the characteristics of your skin. By the way, the theory of the incompatibility of “hydro facets” with oily skin is a big misconception, this product can be used for oily, and for combination, and for dry skin.It cleans deep pores well, removes all the dirt accumulated on the surface layer and reduces the production of sebum, but also reduces inflammation and soothes. In order not to make mistakes in the choice, it is necessary to pay attention to the mark, which indicates for what type of skin the use of oil is recommended.
And, of course, keep in mind that the original product is expensive, so all the options with a low price are analogs that have little effectiveness.
Recommendations for use
"Gidrofilkoy" need to use correctly. The method of its application involves 3 main stages and differs in some of its features.
The most important thing is to apply the drug only on dry skin. Pre-wash and remove makeup is not necessary. Once on the surface of the integument of the skin, it immediately begins to break down and firmly bind the skin fats, which in large quantities are included in the foundation, concealers, powder and other types of decorative cosmetics.
It should also be used to cleanse the neck, ears, and even the eyes.
The tool is spent very economically - no need to pour half of the bottle on a cotton pad. It will be enough 3-4 drops, which are applied to massage movements all over the face. It is imperative that the hands remain completely dry at this point, otherwise contact with water will convert the oil into a liquid emulsion and the cleaning result will not be as effective. Much attention should be focused on problem areas with enlarged pores and unaesthetic black dots.
After applying the drug should wait about two minutes, until the "hydrophilic" does not dissolve the accumulated pollution.
Then it is necessary to turn the oil into an easily washable emulsion. To do this, you need warm water - it will be quite enough to wet your hands and rub your face with them, then wash your face with running water.
At the final stage, use a cleansing foam to get rid of oil residue.
Hydrophilic oil is completely hypoallergenic and practically has no contraindications to use. Many are confused by its texture. Women are afraid that the product may cause clogged pores. But no need to worry - when interacting with water, the oil is removed from the surface of the skin, the main thing is to use gels or foam to remove the remnants of the undissolved product.
However, there are a number of limitations associated with the individual characteristics of the skin. So, if you have enlarged pores that quickly become clogged, then you should refrain from the “hydrophilic” containing mineral oils. However, the high-quality and expensive product of this component does not include at all, but in the analogues it is represented quite widely. It is optimal for frequent use, it can be applied daily, preferably immediately before bedtime. But with a light morning wash the use of oil does not make sense - at this time of day it is better to do with regular foam or tonic.
Reviews
Reviews of hydrophilic oil are generally positive, many are beginning to use it on the advice of girlfriends, and after the first applications they notice the difference.
Women of all ages say that cosmetics are washed off quite easily and simply, no prolonged washing and soap rubbing is needed, while after using the product the skin seems to become radiant and has a pleasant healthy color, and after a few weeks its elasticity improves significantly. Some even note that with regular use, the facial contour pulls up.
The tool is quite versatile - many even use it to cleanse contaminated hair and for intimate hygiene.
The only negative is the price, a quality product costs at least 1000 rubles, and cheaper products are just fakes, the effectiveness of which is very doubtful: they wash off makeup,but it does not improve the structure of the skin and the healing effect is rather weak. However, this disadvantage is leveled by the economy of expenditure - 3-4 drops will be required for one use, therefore one package may last for several months.
