How to dye hair roots at home?

Owners of dyed hair sooner or later face the problem of growing roots of natural color. In order to maintain a harmonious look, it is necessary to regularly paint them in a suitable shade.

Professionals recommend using the same dye for dyeing hair roots as used to treat the total mass of hair. This will get the most natural result. If a different paint is used, then it is first necessary to test for the occurrence of allergic reactions. This is done as follows: a small amount of paint is applied to the skin of the bend of the elbow, waiting some time. When the goal is to paint the dark roots and there is a chance that they will turn yellow, you can use a 9% peroxide when paired with paint. Light curls are processed to the state of dark with ordinary paint, the shade of which is “below” one position.

There is also a recommendation to conduct a complex of restorative procedures even before the start of staining. We are talking about moisturizing and nourishing hair. For this purpose, you can use the heated oil applied over the entire length of the hair and left on average for half an hour under a cap of polyethylene. As another option, it can be homemade masks with essential oils, eggs and honey or purchased with keratin in the composition. Pre-shampooing is not welcome in the situation with lightening, but it is completely permitted when darkening the curls.

Radical staining, as you might guess, requires the use of paint, the composition and shade of which will depend on the overall appearance of the hair. For example, it is important to treat dark hair with an agent that does not cause the appearance of yellowness. In addition, painting can not be realized without special tools: a special brush and a comb with a pointed end. A container will also be needed for mixing the dye components and hairpins, which fix the hair waiting to be processed.

With regards to paint, it is important to mention that experts advise to acquire a tool of the third degree of durability, and not tint dyes that cannot cope with the task. In addition, you should not try to save money by choosing cheap compositions of untested firms. As a rule, such solutions contain too much ammonia, which not only adversely affects the state of the scalp and strands themselves, but can even affect the mucous membrane of the eyes. Specialists also do not recommend buying samples with ammonia to women in position or breastfeeding.

In order to properly dye the grown hair roots to itself, simply follow the instructions that are usually present inside the package. Incidentally, this should be done in a well-ventilated open space. The components of the solution in the specified ratio are stirred in a bowl of either plastic or glass. Of course, it is worth protecting the clothes with an old towel, polyethylene or wearing an old T-shirt or shirt. Self-staining, be sure to wear gloves. To avoid soiling of the skin, the place of its joint with the head of hair should be smeared with a fat cream.

The hair is divided into four equal parts in equal partings (horizontal and vertical): the frontal, the back of the head and a pair of temporal ones. It is better to dry the head in a natural way, since the additional effect of the hair dryer on the weakened curls will negatively affect their condition: the strands will dry out and become more brittle.

In some cases, it is enough only basal staining, without "stretching" the color. This is typical for situations where no more than a month has passed after the initial treatment, as well as high-quality paint was used. Having covered the roots, it will be enough to thoroughly comb the hair, and there will not be any difference between the individual parts of the hair. If the color of the curls stopped arranging over the past 30 days, it is better to refresh the entire hairstyle: finished with the roots, “stretch” the paint along the entire length or even use a new portion of the solution.

If gray roots grow with a general color in a blond shade, then they are recommended to be treated with a dye that is a couple of shades lighter than the existing one. Ash dyes are not recommended, as they most often create an emphasis on graying strands, which would be good to hide. The used tool must have ammonia in its composition, since the absence of this element will lead to incomplete filling of gray hair. The best solution is to use a 6% solution from proven manufacturers.

Brown-haired ladies have to paint over gray hair in the same way. However, for a harmonious look, it is better to combine the dye of the selected color with a natural light brown tone. Dark-haired women will be enough to use the usual professional paint in black. Before dyeing, gray hairs will have to undergo a co-washing procedure, the essence of which is washing with a balm that does not contain silicones, without the addition of shampoo. Since the gray hair is dry and low pigment absorption, it will have to be moistened and nourished.

By the way, root coloring can be replaced by highlighting the root zone. Its essence lies in a uniform lightening, not affecting the bulk of the hair. Carrying out this procedure at home does not require much effort - it is enough to stock up on high-quality paint and strips of foil.
