They are great for each other, do not conflict, however, there are brands that are suitable for many pigment coatings. If there is a need for savings, it is best done on a color gel polish - the base and top you need to buy the highest quality. After all, they provide protection, durability and gloss.

Be sure to study the composition and reviews, additional properties will be only a plus. Modern compositions often care for nails, treat. Carefully select the means - for example, for thinned and brittle nails you need a basic coating thicker, more dense consistency.
