One-color manicure is considered to be a real classic of nail design, however, experiments are in fashion today. Very stylish, but at the same time the coating made in two colors looks elegant. Such a manicure is appropriate and in a strict office, and at a friendly party.
Successful color combinations
The most common combination of a two-color manicure is a design in which all nails are covered with a varnish of one color, and one or two are painted in a different tone.
Today, many do not even remember where this fashion came from. In fact, the appearance of a two-color manicure is directly associated with the spread of the theory of feng shui. According to his teachings, each nail on our hands has its own specific origin, and in order for all innermost dreams to be fulfilled, each one must be painted in a certain color. A little later, this approach became much simpler and only one of the nails began to be covered with an alternative color, the one that was responsible for the most important desire.
The girls liked this decor and they began to paint their nails in this technique, no longer giving the decoration any secret meaning.
Two-color manicure is also often performed using a different technology, when one color smoothly flows into another. This effect is called ombre or gradient.
It is very important to choose the right color palette, and this occupation is much more difficult than it might seem at first glance. Nail art specialists face the problem of color choice every day. They know and are able to combine all sorts of shades and therefore give the girls a few recommendations that will allow them to choose the optimal color palette for their nails.
There are several basic techniques for the use of varnishes in two colors. One of them involves the choice of "leading" color and its combination in adjacent colors, for example, light green and light green, indigo and blue, red and coral. In this case, the colors can be combined in the coating of one marigold, and you can apply a different color to individual nails.
Another no less stylish reception is the combination of contrasting shades, and the options here are the sea, the choice of color is limited only by your own imagination. White, red and blue in various combinations are at the peak of popularity this season.
Girls who love pretentiousness and shocking should dwell on the most daring combinations - yellow with purple, red with green, blue with orange or coral with turquoise, and those who prefer a delicate style should pay attention to the combination of pink and mint, and looks good silver shade in combination with turquoise.
If you have a business meeting or you want to add a touch of femininity in a strict office outfit, pay attention to the combination of nude shades, for example, beige, milky or light pink. They will look perfect when making a moon manicure or a traditional jacket.
For parties with friends it is better to give preference to saturated dark shades. Here saturated purple, burgundy, dark green or even black will be appropriate, and gold and silver shades can make him company. In the hot summer the resort looks great candy colors - delicate strawberry, light lemon, rich orange, pale green or mint. Alliances of red with chocolate, purple with mint, or yellow with blue look very original.
Young girls most often prefer powdery tonality, which emphasizes their tenderness and fragility.
Here the manicure in the white-pink shades reminding blossoming of an apple tree as well as possible will look.
Strong and independent ladies who are used to relying solely on themselves in everything should consider the combination of green and black. This imitation of khaki style will emphasize their strength, active life position and self-confidence.
In winter, a manicure made in silver-blue shades will not be overlooked, and in autumn - in yellow-orange.
The use of two tones in manicure will allow for a few days to forget about repainting the nails, because you can always choose such an outfit that the entire image - from the top to the tips of the nails, constitutes a single finished composition.
Design options
There are as many options for applying a two-color manicure as color solutions. A classic of the genre is the creation of a marble effect. For example, black streaks look very stylish against a white background. Such nail art can ideally complement absolutely any image.
It looks very cheerful colored peas. This pattern is more suitable for such laughter or adolescents, while depicting such decor on the nails can be done even at home, without resorting to salon services. All that is needed is only two varnishes and dots. However, the latter can be replaced with the most common toothpicks.
It always looks elegant french, and in the performance it is quite simple. Here you can use delicate combinations of beige shades, and you can create a "predatory design." For example, as a base, apply dark varnish, and make the tips white.
Some girls believe that the combination of several shades on outrigger looks inappropriate and completely in vain. In this case, it is worth putting a print called “crow's feet”, while the shades used can be absolutely any, the main thing is contrasting.
A monochrome pattern consisting of many dashes and short strokes is very attractive on short nails. By the way, as a background coating, you generally do not need to use a bright lacquer - you can easily do the usual transparent or pearl.
Long nails are also often painted with two varnishes. You can draw different patterns on them, but here it is extremely important not to overdo it - overloading with elements sometimes leads to the fact that the nails look tasteless or even vulgar.
Very simple, but at the same time, the alternation of two colors on the nails looks spectacular.
In this case, coloring in one tone will emphasize the beauty of the shape of the marigold, and the use of a contrasting tone will become a highlight, as if telling that fashion beauty trends are not alien to the owner of such a manicure.
French manicure and reverse service jacket, which is also called lunar, looks perfect on sharp elongated nails. In this design, most of the nail is painted with some basic tone, and a small fragment (tip or moon) is covered with a contrasting shade.
This type of manicure is considered a classic, but with that, and with another option, you can and even need to experiment. For example, it is worth making a sloping french or geometric moon decor, and a good solution would be to combine the direct and reverse french.
How to make at home?
To create a stylish and spectacular manicure from two colored varnishes, it is not at all necessary to resort to some complicated techniques - you can paint your nails beautifully at home, spending a minimum of time and effort.
The easiest option is the alternation of nails, painted evenly in a different shade. Here everything is elementary - cleaned and degreased nail plates are simply covered with selected varnishes, while the painting can be either through one, or applied according to the scheme 4 to 1 or 3 to 2.
As for the more complex techniques, the following are considered the most popular:
- French jacket and all its variations, including moon and geometric manicure;
- gradient - this option assumes a smooth flow of one shade to another, while stretching can be placed both vertically and horizontally;
- stamping - here the finished drawings of a contrasting color are simply stamped on the nails painted with a basic shade.
To make the ombre now ultrafashionable, use lacquers of several close shades, as well as cosmetic sponge (instead you can take an ordinary kitchen sponge, foil or plastic film, and an applicator for applying shadows will do).
To begin with, the nails should be cleaned from the previous coating, sawed, sanded and degreased. After that, the first color should be applied to the sponge, and next, slightly overlapping it, the second. The third and fourth shades are applied in the same way. The base so painted tightly presses against the nail, then a lacquer near the nail plate is removed with a cotton swab dipped in a special liquid - usually the skin near it gets slightly dirty. You can even cover the skin around the nails with a film before applying - in this case, your manicure will be more accurate.
Such a coating is better to do in 2-3 layers, so it will turn out glossy, and the color is bright and saturated.
After the coating dries, you need to apply a layer of a fixative, thanks to which your original manicure will last at least a week.
To paint a French manicure with the transition of shades, you will need two varnishes, a very thin brush, as well as stencils. First, an adhesive strip is attached a little below the tip of the nail, and then a base varnish is applied to the free part. After the coating is dry, you can remove the stencil. If you do it a little earlier, then there is a high probability that the lacquer itself will be removed along with the adhesive tape - then all the work will have to be done anew.
If you do not have a stencil on hand, then you can use the most common adhesive tape. However, if everything is easy and simple with the first one, then you will have to work pretty hard with scotch tape, because first you need to cut a smile of the correct form. To do this, the nail plate is visually subdivided into two equal parts, the strip is fixed exactly to its middle, and then the crescent is cut so that its shape is the same in shape and size on both sides.
This option requires much more time, but it allows you to adjust the depth of the crescent and its shape, and buying tape is much easier than looking for a stencil that is not sold in every shop. Similarly, the lunar manicure is done, but in this case the lower semicircular part of the nail plate is closed with adhesive tape.
As for stamping, everything is simple - nails need to make up the main varnish, and then using special seals to put a contrasting pattern. If you have artistic abilities, you can create such a stamp yourself - for this, varnish is applied to the film, a toothpick is attached to it and the desired pattern is applied to the prepared nail.
Having made your choice in favor of a two-color manicure, you need to follow simple rules, then your nails will look extremely stylish and elegant, and your hands - well-groomed.
Before you pick the main colors of the coating make sure that they look beautiful in different lighting conditions. Try to apply varnishes with identical texture - either matte or glossy. An exception is made only for coatings with glitter, or when using combinations of glossy and matte varnish of the same color.
It is better to buy varnishes from a single manufacturer, so you can easily and efficiently choose the right pair, and this coating will be better.
