It would seem to fade into the background pretentious options for nail design with a lot of brilliant decorations. However, this year, kamifubuki blew up the fashion industry in the field of nail art. These are small artificial sequins, but not such that you used to see in the sewing shops, but their version is without holes. These sequins can be glued to the nails, collected from them a pattern, and among the many colors and shapes there are always suitable options for your idea.
Origin
As you might guess from the name, there are such devices for nail design in Japan. From Japanese kamifubuki translates as "paper storm". Not the Japanese invented them, but they were able to improve the materials and establish high-quality and diverse production. Taking the New Year confetti as a prototype, they began to make kamifubuki of a thin and flexible polymer material - something between plastic and polyethylene. Now you can buy kamifubuki in any specialized store for manicure masters. Increasingly, they are also leaking onto counters in ordinary cosmetic stores, as their popularity grows.
Packing can be different - in bags or jars, but the latter option is preferable, since it is much more convenient to work with jars, especially if you plan to use kamifubuki quite often.
Types of sequins
Sequins kamifubuki vary in size, shape and color. As well as a distinctive feature can be a bulge and additional effects on the surface of the sequins. It is worth considering more known options.
- Flat circle. Now you can find the packaging of some manufacturers with such circles of different sizes and colors. They can be glossy, mirror, matte or with a holographic effect.
- Rhombus. From them it is possible to make various drawings, for example, volumetric cube. It is easily made of three diamonds, substituted to each other. It is best to leave a small strip of background between them, and for the background itself choose a varnish of a contrasting color. Thus, the faces of the cube will stand out, and its shape will be better visible. Since Japanese sequins are very small, you can make several such cubes on one nail at once, creating a pattern of them.
- Triangle. You can also make a lot of different designs from it for your taste and fantasy. For example, multicolored triangles scattered over the nail plate in combination with a white background will look very playful. And if the rest of the nails on the hand are painted with varnishes of the same colors as these triangles, you will get a solid and harmonious design without excessive congestion.
- Patrisa Nail has recently released maple leaf sequins - this is exactly what is suitable for autumn manicure. They are presented in three colors - green, yellow and red. They can also find the forms of "heart", "star", "diamond", "leaves", "koi scales", "butterfly", "rectangle" in a variety of colors, with and without holography. The most unusual and challenging form is “koi scales.” Koi carps are a type of fish that is very popular in Japan. Their scales are similar to honeycombs, so these sequins can be used for “bee” design or lay them on nails.
What design is suitable for?
The variant with monochrome circles of different diameter on the nails is an indisputable trend of the season. It looks spectacular and irreplaceable in design options on the theme of the sea or space. The shiny sequins on a matte monophonic background look no less impressive. If at the same time stick only a few kamifubuki, then this design can be used as a casual one. It will not look too catchy and challenging, but it will emphasize your originality.
If you are ready for a bright and effective solution, then you can safely combine the sequins with any colors and manicure designs.
How to glue?
The first thing to do is pour the sequins from the bag onto a flat surface or a jar. It is extremely inconvenient to get them out of the package directly in the process of work, but if you don’t want to pour them each time before the start, you can buy special small jars that are sold in cosmetics stores. After that, cover the nail with a basic tool and varnish. Even before the varnish dries, transfer the sequin to your nails. This can be done with the help of the sharp end of an orange manicure stick or any similar object.
As a rule, plastic sequins easily stick to such tools. And the convex variants of kamifubuki can be picked up with small tweezers. After the pattern is made, take a pencil or something narrow and unsharp, press the sequins into the lacquer a little. So, they will better hold on to the nails. Then apply a top clear coat that will also prevent premature loss of decor. As a result, camoufubs will look as if they are under glass or just part of a pattern.
