Almost every woman is about beautiful manicure and long nails. But sometimes there are troubles, and at the most inappropriate moment the nail can break. Walking with a broken nail is not only not very aesthetically pleasing, but also uncomfortable and sometimes painful. How can I grow a broken nail, can I fix it?
What to do if the nail broke?
Broken nail is a small tragedy in a woman’s life. There are several options for what to do in this situation. To get rid of discomfort and keep the length of the manicure:
- trim all nails under the length of the broken;
- try to fix the nail itself at home;
- contact the master of the nail industry.
The choice of solution depends not only on personal preference, but also on the severity of the failure. So, repair the nail, which is broken by more than a third, it is impractical, because the design will be fragile, soon the nail will fly off. If the crack is small, then you can try to patch. This method is suitable if the crack is shallow and appeared along the "smile" line.
If the nail broke off at the very root, it is better to turn to the manicurist, then a professional will help you to increase the desired length using tips or using a regular gel. But there are procedures that can never be performed. For example, glue a crack with a super glue. This material contains aggressive substances, which, falling on the nail plate, corrode it, injuring the surface even more. This material can only be used on acrylic tips.
If the nail broke off and injured the skin, then in no case can the acetone-containing agents be used to treat the crack, since this substance should not get into the wound. If the crack is small, do not postpone the repair, as it can go further. Then restore the nail yourself, without resorting to the services of professionals, you will not succeed.
Repair nails at home
If the crack on the nail formed at the side, you can try to glue it. This procedure will help maintain the length of the manicure until the moment when you can visit the salon. And if the damage is small, it will allow the nail to grow, without cutting it.
For repair it is necessary to make the following manipulations.
- Treat the nail with a disinfectant composition. To do this, you can use hydrogen peroxide, chlorhexidine solution or another antiseptic.
- Sand the crack with a polishing file. The nail should be flat, it should not cling to anything.
- Prepare a patch. To do this, use a piece of thin fabric, a special rag tape or tea bag. The size of the first patch should be slightly larger than the crack parameters. The second should correspond to the size of the nail plate.
- Use glue for tips. It should be applied on the nail plate and on a smaller patch. Glue the fabric, give a little dry. Then cover the surface of the marigold again and glue a larger piece of fabric. Top again to make the coating glue. Next you need to polish the surface of the nail with a buff and draw the desired design.
Building up
If the nail broke, but there was a free edge, then the extension is done in the usual way. If the nail is broken under the root, and the fingertip protrudes strongly above the plate, then the extension technology here will change a little.Since acrylic tips are now practically not used to increase the length of the manicure, it is possible to increase the broken nail and gel. To do this, you first need to prepare the nail.
If you have injured your skin when the nail plate is broken, you will first need to heal the wound. To do this, cut off the nail along the crack line, treat the dermis with an antiseptic. Next, you should stop the bleeding. Press the wound with a cotton pad and hold for a few minutes. Place your finger first in cold water and hold it there for 15 minutes. This will help reduce pain. Then move your finger into a warm solution of salt or sea salt (add 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 l of water). This procedure will speed up the drying of the wound.
Dab your hands with a dry towel and apply antibiotic ointment, cover the wound with a plaster. Leave the nail for at least three days to the wound healed, then you can go to the capacity. We make a manicure: remove the pterygium, cut off the cuticle, polish the skin around the nail. With the help of the buff, we remove the glossy shine from the nail plate. Degrease and apply primer, let the surface dry for 20 seconds.
Now apply gel. To do this, use a brush to stretch the layer on the nail itself, as well as on the towering pad above it. This layer should perfectly align the nail plate, as well as create a free edge, which can later be fixed form. The gel is dried in the lamp. Using a metallic pusher, we separate the skin from the gel.
Set the paper form. Now you can design the desired length and shape of the future nail. To do this, you can use any gel-sculptor, whether it is transparent or colored material. Again dry in the lamp. Apply the design on the accrued nail and fix it with a finishing gel. Now you again have beautiful extended nails of the required length.
