Supra, better known to consumers as white henna, is an effective remedy for lightening hair up to 7 tones. However, the composition has nothing to do with real henna, so when using it you should know some features of the supra and the subtleties of its application.

Because of its powdery consistency, the supra is often called white henna, but this “natural” name should not mislead you - the drug effectively brightens the hair, but it does not spare them at all.

The clarifier consists of two components: ammonium carbonate and herbal supplements. Alkaline constituents etch the coloring pigment out of the strands, and the plant components make the process softer. Such a tool is quite cheap, it works efficiently, but the resulting color is rather technical – it contains undesirable yellowness and needs additional tinting.

There are two types of white henna:

• artisanal - has a fairly low cost, about 50 rubles, sold in the cosmetic departments of supermarkets and hardware stores;
• professional - costs much more expensive, from 200 to 2000 rubles, the final cost depends on the concentration of the oxidizing agent, the presence of emollient components and the brand of the manufacturer.

Let us dwell on the mechanism of action of the supra. The main synthetic component of the substance is ammonia, to accelerate the reaction with the hair shaft, additives can be added to the composition - persulfates. The reaction is triggered by the combination of supra with hydrogen peroxide or more powerful oxygenants, which are usually offered in concentrations from 6 to 12%.

Artisan does not contain any emollient ingredients., but the composition of professional white henna salts of silicon, biologically active additives derived from the seeds of Indian acacia and some types of saccharides and amino acids that protect the hair from chemical damage.

Under the influence of supra and peroxide, melanin, the main coloring pigment, is washed out of the hair, that is why after dyeing the curls become lighter, but dry and brittle. Lightening strands with white henna can be easily made independently. The mixture is applied to the hair of any degree of pollution. The sequence of actions in this case is as follows:

• the contents of the bag are poured into a porcelain or glass container (plastic, like enameled, can oxidize, therefore they are not suitable);
• the powder is diluted with hot water and stirred until a uniform consistency;
• the resulting composition is evenly distributed along the strands;
• to achieve a greater effect, it is desirable to wear a warming cap - usually women use a bag and additionally wrap their heads with a towel;
• The brightener is kept on hair for 15 to 45 minutes, then washed off without using shampoo.

When highlighting, special attention should be paid to the consistency of the brightening compound. It is desirable that he had a density of sour cream, otherwise the solution will begin to flow, and the effectiveness of clarification will decrease. However, if the procedure is planned for fresh air, especially in the hot season, it is better to make the mixture a little more liquid so that it does not dry under the rays of the scorching sun.

For highlighting take oxidizing agents with a concentration of 3% or 4.5%, because the lower the percentage, the slower the reaction, which means that the shade will be cleaner. The difference in the use of supra for coloring and highlighting is reduced only to the application technique and the volume of the preparation.

Supra is a fairly powerful tool that makes hair brittle and weak, strands often begin to fall out, and the ends are stratified, which generally makes the look of hair dull and lifeless. After discoloration, it is imperative to use balm and conditioners designed to care for loose strands. For combing it is better to use a brush or a comb with sparse teeth.Wet strands, in general, do not need to comb - in the wet state, they are very vulnerable and are quite easily pulled out, so wait until it is completely dry.

Completely eliminate the use of a hair dryer, as well as irons and curls - they only worsen the already painful condition of the hair. If there is no alternative - do not forget to use thermoprotective drugs. To return healthy shine and shine to hair as quickly as possible, you should use face masks. They can be purchased in specialized stores, and you can use folk remedies.

By the way, it is not necessary to make complex mixtures, you can use monorecept. Products such as honey, olive or burdock oil, avocado, egg yolk, also banana and cream.

It is quite easy to make masks of them. Consider a few simple recipes.

• Melt five tablespoons of honey in a water bath and mix with 20 ml burdock oil, add 1 egg yolk, mix everything and apply on hair. For greater efficiency, additionally wrap hair with a warming cap. The mask is left on the hair for 25-30 minutes, after which it is washed off with a cleanser and a balm is applied.
