Brazilian pedicure: what is it and how to do it?

Pedicure is a necessary procedure for every woman, which must be done about once per 1-1.5 months. This process has its own subtleties and, as a rule, lasts quite a long time, since it is necessary to pre-treat the coarsened skin of the feet. In order to reduce the time to prepare the feet for care, the Brazilian pedicure was invented.

Brazilian pedicure is a salon (less commonly home) treatment for feet and nails, during which the steaming of the skin in water is replaced by the treatment of the feet with a special emulsion. For better softening, special socks are put on your feet, which allow the cream to work even more efficiently. Depending on the manufacturer, the emulsion contains various useful components.

1. Keratin. Restores nails, nourishes and strengthens them.
2. Calcium. Makes the nail plate strong and beautiful.
3. Tea tree essential oil. Effectively relieves irritation, has anti-inflammatory activity. Helps get rid of skin fungus and nails and other diseases caused by microorganisms.
4. Allantoin. It moisturizes, regenerates and exfoliates dead skin cells.
5. Witch hazel. Hypoallergenic component that fights inflammation and perfectly tones the skin.
6. Beeswax. Softens and nourishes the skin, seals microcracks in the nails.
7. Vitamin E. Restores and nourishes the skin of the feet and the nail plate.
8. Urea. Excellent antiseptic, absorbs skin and nails with moisture. Relieves irritation and itching.
9. Special polymer R236. Aligns the nail bed, gives it a beautiful look and shine.

The advantages and undoubted advantages of the Brazilian manicure procedure include:

• acceleration of the process, especially in comparison with the classic pedicure;
• can be used on irritated and fungal-affected skin;
• improves blood circulation in the lower limbs;
• the condition of the skin and nails improves even after the first session;
• nails cease to exfoliate;
• does not usually cause allergies;
• can be used on any type of skin;
• water use is not required;
• gently scrubs the surface of the feet and removes dead cells;

However, in addition to the pros, there are several drawbacks, among them:

• if a poor quality emulsion from an untested manufacturer is used, an allergy may occur, or the effect will be minimal;

In order to carry out the procedure of the Brazilian pedicure, will need the following:

• emulsion;
• special socks;
• nail file;
• pedicure machine (in difficult cases);
• cuticle stick.

Special socks create a greenhouse effect and enhance the effect of the cream. It absorbs better and softens the skin. If it is not possible to use them, they put ordinary cellophane bags on their feet, and warm them with terry toes.

It is better to buy the emulsion in the salon or store of professional cosmetics. It is necessary to give preference to proven manufacturers, and not to chase for cheap. Otherwise, you can get an allergic reaction, and the legs will be in an even worse condition than the original.

If there are a lot of corns and callosities, and the skin is dry and cracked, then after exposure to the emulsion, additional treatment of the skin with a pedicure machine with abrasive caps may be required. They are a mill cutter covered with sand grains of various fractions. They are used for grinding the skin on the feet, removing callosities and corns, correcting the shape of the nail plate and the ingrown nail. They should be chosen on the basis of neglect of the problem, and also do not forget that the skin was previously treated with a cream, and a too hard cutter could hurt.

It doesn’t matter whether a Brazilian manicure is done at home or in the salon it has the same sequence.

1. Feet and toes are wiped with an antiseptic and thoroughly cleaned with a napkin.
2. Socks are put on their feet, in which the cream is pre-distributed. The exposure time is determined individually, but usually does not exceed 10-15 minutes. You can additionally massage the legs through socks. This will enhance the effect of the emulsion and allow you to achieve a better result.
3. The fingers are freed from the socks and work on the edges of the nail, side rollers. And also at this stage they move the cuticle with the help of a special stick. Trimming it is not recommended, as it grows more intensively from this, besides there is always a risk of injuring thin skin.
4. Then the socks are removed from the feet and process the surface of the feet. If it is too problematic, then use a special machine with a suitable mill, and in milder cases, you can do with a file with a hardness of 80 grit.
5. The napkin removes the rest of the cream. If there is a need to apply colored lacquer or shellac, then the surface of the nail should be degreased.

In the Brazilian pedicure is nothing complicated, and it is quite possible to do it yourself, replacing the salon procedures home.
