Christmas is a holiday that takes nearly a whole month of the year. And if in our country the New Year is still perceived with greater solemnity and reverence, in the West everyone is waiting for Christmas, preparing for the holiday and since the end of autumn carefully think over gifts and surprises for loved ones. If you are also close to the Christmas theme and this holiday you consider special, then a lot of pleasure will be given by the preparation of Christmas presents.

Christmas Gift Requirements

It is not necessary to buy gifts only in the store: cute, heartfelt crafts are absolutely appropriate at Christmas. With a huge number of master classes and photo examples, even a person who considers himself to be deprived in the sense of artistic skills can create something convincing and festive.

Remember that the tradition of bestowing on each other for Christmas stretches from biblical times - the Magi brought gold, myrrh, incense as a gift to the newborn Jesus. And this choice was not accidental. Try to make your gift meaningful, like any action on this magical holiday.

What you should not do:

  • do not give gifts whose value may confuse the person to whom they are intended;
  • don’t give things unless you are sure that the donor approves such a choice (for example, it’s not forbidden to donate perfumes for Christmas, but if you don’t know the preferences of a loved one, this gift will be risky)
  • do not give what is associated with black humor, symbolism of devilism, and so on;
  • Do not give gifts that oblige a person to make a reciprocal gesture.

There are no strict requirements, they all boil down to the elementary rules of politeness and good tone.

Popular options

There are situations where you should not reinvent the wheel. Cute holiday symbols are always an option worth considering. Before the holiday, souvenirs are sold everywhere, and if you think that the addressee will like such things, you can buy them. A gift should not be expensive, elegantly decorated, with a claim of gratitude.

Most people on this day exchange souvenirs, unpretentious trinkets, which, however, can decorate the house and create a good mood.

If you make a gift to parents (despite the fact that you yourself are parents), then try to create something with your children. The general family business strengthens the bonds of the family, gives pleasant emotions, teaches children to creativity, the joys of creation. And the ideas of such gifts are numerous!

Angels

From paper, felt, beads - a lot of options. Probably no other image is so associated with Christmas as the image of an angel. It's nice at the end of the old year (or at the beginning of the new one, depending on what kind of Christmas you are celebrating) to receive a personal guardian angel.

Kids can make an angel of plasticine, for this it is better to purchase special material. It is perfectly amenable to decoration, and the finished angel will look like a thing from a souvenir shop. Recall that the molding develops fine motor skills and stimulates the receptors responsible for the development of speech centers (they are located at the fingertips). You can make an angel, if you follow the master class step by step.

Little tricks in making paper angels:

  • that the figure looked more festive, you can sprinkle the finished work with children's hairspray with glitter;
  • it is easy to sell stickers in the form of beads and pebbles (also sold in children's art departments), they are well fixed on paper and do an excellent job with their decorative task;
  • Use not plain white paper, but designer paper - the sets are sold in bookstores and in the departments of creativity (such paper often has an attractive texture, and it surpasses the album sheet in strength).

If you are not sure of your artistic abilities, buy a beautiful souvenir. Do not be lazy to sign a card with warm wishes.

Candle holders

A wonderful gift option, because the candles, even though they never came out of fashion, nevertheless are experiencing yet another rise in popularity today. And this is not just a boom, but the conscious need of a modern person to surround himself with a natural, warm light. Candles are often called a sacred thing: their soft glow makes you remove vanity, ponder, shut up, pray.

There are even scientific studies proving that an evening spent in candlelight helps to remove psychological discomfort.

You can buy original candlesticks that beat the Christmas theme. And you can build a candlestick yourself. It doesn't always work out quickly, but it's worth it.

What can make a candlestick:

  • from the coil with very thick, durable threads;
  • from a very thick branch, inside of which there will be a candle rod (metal);
  • from an ordinary glass jar.

The latter option seems the most simple and attractive. If you have a jar of baby food, PVA glue, sea salt, a thin lace band, consider that the candlestick is half ready. It is necessary to cover a clean jar with PVA glue and sprinkle (generously) with salt. A part of it will subside, but also the part that remains enough to form a “snow” candlestick.

At the base of the neck tie a braid. Instead of braid, you can use a thin satin ribbon. Sometimes a ribbon with Christmas wishes is tied to a ribbon.

Candles

When a beautiful candlestick is ready, you can practice making candles with your own hands. But if you are afraid of such experiments, you can transform beyond recognition the usual thick white household candles.

Take, for example, decoupage. In the shops before the holidays napkins with New Year and Christmas motifs are sold: they are perfect for decorating using decoupage technique.

If there are no suitable napkins, print out pictures from the Internet on thin paper. You can use a special craquelure varnish, which gives the candles a vintage look.

You can also decorate candles:

  • coffee beans;
  • beads;
  • sequins;
  • spruce twigs, cinnamon sticks and miniature pine cones;
  • sprigs of mountain ash or viburnum;
  • lace.

Candles, for which the sweater is knit, also look original. If you are new to knitting, then even in the most primitive way you can knit a fluffy outfit for a candle, decorating it with a Christmas button.

If you knit well, add a gift with the same outfit for the teapot - this is not only beautiful, but also practical (the kettle will stay warm for a long time).

Postcards

No holiday is complete without cards! You can give loved ones a hand-made postcard. Manual creativity today is at a premium, so it is worth picking up paint and try your hand. Small watercolor sketches on the festive theme will delight relatives and friends.

It will be very nice if you wish to show your skills in lettering using postcards. This is the art of beautiful, esetic signing of letters, invitations, cards, etc. Something very close to calligraphy. The courses on lettering today are incredibly popular: people of different ages take up fountain pens and try to pull each letter out without putting a blot.

Drawings

For a friend, grandmother, sister, a picture painted by you personally will be a pleasant Christmas present. Let it be thematic, because it’s great when every year at a certain season you get a festive décor from the mezzanine, and your picture will be an integral part of it.

But not necessarily strictly follow the festive theme. For example, your father loves the sea very much - draw a picturesque sea sunset for him, accompany the drawing with a beautiful, inspiring signature. Your work will surely have a place in the house of the bestowed (and in his soul too).

Maybe you have long wanted to try your hand at drawing, but there was no chance. Catch it - the festive atmosphere will give strength and confidence. And if it's still scary, start with the “drawing by numbers” technique.

The main thing is to follow the instructions, and everything will turn out by itself. After such a painting you can start painting more thoroughly. By the way, a gift from the series “picture by numbers” is perfect as a Christmas present.

clothing

In winter, everyone wants warmth, comfort, and the feeling of a slowly turning soft snowball in the shower. Knitted clothes are strongly associated with all this. Hook or knitting is not so important. Will it be warm socks for mom or a scarf for dad, sweater for beloved man - the main thing is that it is a homemade, cute and very necessary gift.

To beat the theme of winter is not so difficult: bullfinch, white bunnies, deer - all this accompanies the main idea of the holiday.

If the family has small children who are just learning to knit, trust them to make a napkin for the grandmother's table. And so that it reminds of a holiday, you can put a couple of drops of pine oil on a napkin. Great atmospheric gift!

Recommendations on the choice of material

It all depends on your initial skills. If you are still “on you” with needlework, do not take on complex structures and techniques that require skill. Make a souvenir of felt - many cute crafts can be sewn by hand, you do not need to grind the edges of the fabric. Gorgeous horses turn out of felt, gingerbread, Christmas trees. And the material itself is inexpensive. Additional decoration for such crafts can serve as beads.

Not everyone fully understands how many beautiful things can be made from paper. Embossed, textured, corrugated, metallized, designer - the choice of paper in the shops for creativity is so great that already during the purchase a few ideas may appear in my head.

Ordinary, seemingly, materials find a new solution, rethinking. For example, you can give your parents a plasticine picture for Christmas. If you buy a special clay with many shades, then the picture will turn out incredibly beautiful. True, this is not a quick matter, so you need to start work long before the holiday.

Or maybe you want to do your own napkin for a festive table? Otherwise, such a product is called a mini tablecloth. If the table is rectangular, it lies flat in the middle of it, it may even hang down on both sides along its length, it takes up less than a third of the table or a little more in width. A napkin is often made bilateral: the first side, for example, with a Christmas motif, the second - with a winter one, more neutral. Cozy, beautiful and original!

Making presents with your own hands is no less pleasant than their present. Many fashionable and expensive purchased items for energy are difficult to compare with simpler, but self-made presents.

Do not forget to share this energy with loved ones, so any holiday will seem even more meaningful and will bring more joy and happiness.
