On the territory of the Crimean peninsula there are about three hundred lakes. All of them can be divided into two categories. The first includes fresh water, the second - salty.

The first are in the central part, the second closer to the sea. Some are separated from the salty sea by a narrow strip of land.

Salt lakes overview

In Crimea, people go not only to relax, but also to improve their health, heal a sick organ. Salt lakes have become a source of healing mud. Their mining is conducted on an industrial scale. Even a simple stay near salt water bodies is good for the human body. But unlimited use of mud is not safe. You should not be treated independently. Each disease needs its own course of treatment. Red

The historical name given by the Crimean Tatars is Kyzyl-Yar. It is a reservoir of estuary type with a length of more than 13 km and a maximum width of 2.5 km. The depth of the reservoir does not exceed one and a half meters.

The water in the lake is very salty. In the hot summer, it almost dries out, then there is a red color. The rest of the year the water surface casts gold.

Oyburskoe

Lake Oybur is fourth in size on the peninsula. Once there was a bay in its place. Over time, a sand isthmus appeared, and the connection with the sea was broken.

Estuary

Lake Estuary was formed relatively recently. It is separated from the sea by a narrow sandy strip. Sometimes sea water is poured into the estuary through the separation barrier.

Replenishment of water occurs due to underground sources and precipitation. The depth ranges from one to two meters, and in the very heat is only 0.4 m.

The salt lake of the estuary type is located in the village of Olenevka.

Sludge deposits are used for medicinal purposes. Access to the reservoir is free. The mass of tourists is located on the shore and uncontrollably smeared with mud. Aktashskoe lake is quite shallow (1-2 meters), but quite large. Its length is 8 km, and its width is about 3 km. In the heat the water evaporates, the reservoir dries out. It seems that non-melting snow fell in the summer.

Everywhere salt crystals sparkle in the sun. In some places, due to impurities, salt loses its whiteness. From this landscape becomes more interesting.

Swan

As such, there is no separate lake. It's just that some of the most salty Sasyk-Sivash in the Evpatoria region descended somewhat. Only a few years ago swans settled there. Beautiful proud birds have taken root and do not fly away from the reservoir all year round. On the lake is never deserted. It is always full of tourists who want to admire the swans, feed them, and, of course, make beautiful photos.

The birds are almost tame. However, when communicating with birds, you should follow certain rules:

  • feed only white bread;
  • do not try to stroke the birds (they do not like it, they can bite);
  • do not be frightened and do not withdraw your hand if the bird touches it with its beak;
  • don't wave your arms and just don't make any sudden movements.

Panagia

The mountain lake of Panagia is located in the village of Zelenogorye in a conservation area. It is above sea level at 290 meters. The lake Kushen-Uzen fills the lake.

Tourists, pilgrims and occultists are drawn to picturesque places.

For the first, outdoor recreation is attractive with an abundance of greenery, clean air and the absence of city fuss. The latter believe that the reservoir is guarded by the Lord. They say on its surface you can see the face of the Virgin. Still others believe: Panagia is a place of power. Who is right - is unknown. But to get a charge of cheerfulness and peace of mind here for sure.

Mogaba

The lake consists of two reservoirs: upper and lower. One of them is a reservoir supplying Yalta and nearby settlements with fresh water. Another in order to maintain cleanliness is protected very strictly. Therefore, there are no tourists here. On organized excursions you can see only the Uchan-Su waterfall, which feeds the lake.

Access to the lower part of the lake is open. Since 2013, in the immediate vicinity began to appear expensive private villas. So far there is no infrastructure around.

Turtle

A very small body of water, located at 578 m above the sea line.Famous for its inhabitants, turtles live here.

List of healing lakes

In the Crimea, there are about forty mud deposits. It is not surprising that mud therapy thrives on the peninsula.

The largest mud accumulations are located in the eastern part of the peninsula. The most famous curative mud pools are on the west coast.

Saki mud lake located near the town of Saki. It operates the oldest spa resort of the peninsula.
