How to determine the color of a puppy
The most basic color of the chocolate spitz breed, of course, is brown. Such dogs are considered very rare among the representatives of their breed. Of course, choosing a puppy, you will not recognize its final, “adult” color, because after shedding they change their color.
However, you can determine the shade that the dog gets by the color of the wool on the back of the ear. This method does not guarantee one hundred percent probability, but in most cases it may work. Brown Spitz have to look at the lips and nose - they must also be brown and never darken to black.
The brown variety of spitz-nuts assumes coloring in different shades of chocolate scale, but wool thus has to keep the uniform tone.
Being puppies, brown spitz look much lighter, and may also have spots. It is possible to see a color that is as close as possible to the color of an adult individual only after a molt that begins at 3 months after birth, and ends at about the 8th month.
The most saturated, bright and brilliant coat color of the spitz becomes only by the 3rd year of life. If you want to buy a brown spitz and no other, then carefully watch the pedigree of the dog: both his parents should also belong to the brown spitzs and not have spots, blotches and other patterns of other colors!
Varieties
Spitz pure brown color without extraneous tones in color - a rarity. But in the process of selection, other chocolates were also developed, which were also recognized.
- Marble (chocolate merle). With this color, the spitz retains the overall brown gamut, but the individual areas on its coat are colored not with one but with several shades of brown, both lighter and darker than the base color.
- Chocolate tan. In representatives of this type there are markings on the cheeks, on the sides of the muzzle, above the eyes (some kind of eyebrows can be made), on the inside of the ears, on the legs and under the tail. There may be tanning, including on the chest, but its presence is optional. Carbs should occupy no more than 10 percent of the entire area of brown color.
The following color variations are considered particolors - the presence in the color of two or more colors (for example, bicolor, tricolor and so on). In some classifications, chocolate and tan also refers to partricore. The number of varicose options in Spitz is huge, but the most popular are chocolate white and brown sable white.
- Chocolate White Particolor - is a puppy of white-brown color, having white spots on the chest, hips and legs. Spots are allowed in any size and shape. Perhaps the presence of white grooves on the head. Animals of this color will never make puppies of pure brown or white color.
- Brown-sable-white particolor. Roughly speaking, this color can be called simply gray-brown. This is a tricolor color, in which half of the wool (about 50 percent) is painted white. Other colors - brown and sable - can either divide the remaining area over the top and be present in very small quantities. It is important only the presence of three colors. However, the most undesirable place to find inclusions is the paws of the doggie.
Character
These animals are very intelligent and quick-witted and quickly understand how to manipulate the host. Do not allow this - be restrained and sometimes moderately strict with your pet. But at the same time, the spitzs love their owner very much and always try to cheer up and cheer. They are very easily trained and unpretentious in content, but do not forget about the daily hygiene procedures such as brushing your teeth and monitoring the condition of the ears and eyes. Spitz dogs are very energetic and love active walks - before purchasing a puppy, be sure to find a place where the pet can run into plenty.
Such dogs are very sociable and, despite the frequent and loud barking, they are very friendly. They are cheerful and cheerful, very brave and loyal, true loyal comrades. Easily go on contact with other animals, love to play and have fun.
