Dogs mestizo: description and content

Metis - a special type of dog. They do not belong to the purebred individuals and are not mongrels. By the appearance of a newborn puppy, it is impossible to predict what breed of genes in it will dominate.

Metis - puppies received from parents of different breeds. They appear for several reasons.

• When the owner did not follow the dog, and there was a random mating. Animals can take on the character and appearance of both parents. The result is unpredictable and it is not worth paying money for such puppies, they are given "in good hands".
• Conscious work of breeders to cross different breeds of dogs in order to improve their exterior, working qualities, physical, mental and mental capabilities. Such puppies are called "designer breed", some of them cost a lot of money. The result can be a puppy, the genotype of which consists of three, four or even five types of DNA of its pedigree ancestors.

The process of mixing different species to obtain new qualities is called "interbreed outbreeding" and has fourteen centuries. People have long been purposefully taking out dogs for hunting, protection, or just for fun. In the latter case, we have breeds of decorative dogs, on the origin of which even our ancestors have worked hard.

Metis should not be confused with mongrels. They are children of titled parents, in their exterior, there must be a breed of one of the ancestors or both at once.

Colors can be very different, taken from one of the parents or mixed. For example, Pomsky may well look like a red-headed fox Pomeranian, only a mask on the face will give out the ancestors of the husky. Achieving a rare color, the breeders mixed Weimaraner and Labrador, got a half-breed with silver wool. Unusual mestizos are Tolmatins, they are endowed with a beautiful spotted color of Dalmatians, but have a small, slightly elongated body, similar to a dachshund. Horgi can be met with the color and mask of the husky and the long hair of the corgi.

The mestizos have many positive qualities. Mixing blood leads to its renewal. In most cases, babies are born with good health. Hereditary diseases of pedigree parents bypass them. And the psyche of these dogs is more stable. Most often mestizos are smart and friendly, but there are exceptions.

It is impossible to predict the behavioral line of mestizos; they can take on the traits of both parents. But they have every chance to get the best from their ancestors. If outbreeding is carried out by professional breeders, besides the exterior, they will also be interested in working opportunities. Most often, it turns out a smart faithful dog of medium size. She will not bark at the guests, but she will not let the stranger out of the house. In most cases half-breeds are quite adequate dogs, not aggressive and sociable. But some hybrids require special education.For example, mixtures of small breeds are too shy or, on the contrary, they do not know fear, they are driven to large dogs. And the half-breeds of large guard dogs are poorly amenable to training, they should be trained from childhood.

Each hybrid shows its qualities characteristic of both breeds, namely:

• if you mix husky and corgi, dogs will be kind, intelligent, they perform well the commands of the owner;
• Bloodsars (a mixture of Bloodhound and Moscow Watchdog) hardy, smart, endowed with a sharp scent, they can serve as service and guard dogs;
• pittsky (pitbull and husky) infinitely devoted to his master and kind, but they got a willful temper from the Huskies, which can only be corrected by a good upbringing;
• tolmatins - good-natured and cheerful, but if the Dalmatian genes take over, the mestizos may not be too smart or stubborn.

Métisas are amazing beasts, unlike pedigreed dogs, their exterior is always individual, each one guesses the nobility of ancestors. The advantages of these animals include the following:

• good immunity, lack of hereditary diseases;
• they have no mental disorders;
• half-breeds are most often friendly, docile and sociable;
• their maternal instinct is more developed than that of some breeds; they responsibly nurture and feed their puppies;
• hybrids do not require special care and nutrition;
• adapt well to new conditions;
• their cost (if it is not designer breeds) is small.

Metis also have such disadvantages as:

• the result of mixing is always unpredictable, it is difficult to know in advance the size and temperament of the pet;
• a half-breed that has a strong resemblance to one of its parents may be passed for a purebred puppy;
• hybrids have no pedigree and documents;
• they do not participate in exhibitions.

There are hundreds of dog breeds on the planet. If you mix them together, you will get thousands of types of mestizo. But design hybrids are not so much. Breeders try not to allow random mating. A hybrid, created by a professional, carries the improved qualities of its parents; sometimes interesting and strange species are obtained. Consider the descriptions of the most popular mestizos.

• Labradudel. A cross between a Labrador and a poodle became the first hybrid, the so-called designer breed, which was bred in 1988 purposefully to improve working qualities. The Australian Guide Dog Society received an order from a blind woman whose husband was allergic to wool. We needed a guide with hypoallergenic properties. Poodles have this kind of hair, they began to be crossed with Labrador retrievers, dogs with excellent qualities of guide dogs.

• German Shar Pei. Outwardly, he looks like a Shar Pei, only large and with the color of a German Shepherd. On the elongated muzzle may be folds, erect ears. I took the best from my parents - intelligence, devotion, love for my family. A pet may be overly independent and not too trusting of strangers.

• Basset Drink This metis is a descendant of Shar Pei and Basset Hound. This is a very cute little animal with a fold of skin, like a Shar Pei, small ears and beautiful eyes. • Horgi. Very pretty half-breed. His parents were dogs of the Husky and Corgi breeds. • Siberian Retriever. It will be a cross between a golden Labrador Retriever (Golden) and a Siberian Husky. With an equal set of genes from both parents, the puppy has a double color of fur - chocolate with the addition of white. If the genes are folded differently, the coat color is the same as the color of the parent. Metis have a sky blue shade of eyes. Dogs swim well and are unsurpassed hunters. They are smart, restless, one might say, too energetic. They need a long walk with physical exertion.

• Labski Parents of this mestizo are also Labrador and Husky. The appearance of the dog is very impressive, since Siberian genes prevail in the exterior, it looks like a wolf. • Shepsky. This is a mix of shepherd and husky. Metis has good guarding qualities, but does not know the sense of proportion. If you feel the slightest threat, can attack. Most mestizo are well trained, some difficulties may arise with hybrids, in the creation of which the husky participated. They often show independence and self-will, they should be dealt with from an early age. Half-breeds are more savvy than their purebred parents. If you start to train your puppy from three months, you can achieve amazing results. Knowing the parents of mestizo, dog experts put emphasis on their behavioral lines, forming obedience, good nature, interpersonal skills and other necessary qualities in the pet.
