To complete the accessory, you need a top material with a size of 1.10 m long and 1.35 m wide and the same amount of finishing (made of natural fabric).Too thin and soft textiles do not hold the form, it is better to use coarse material. Glue will take at least 4 meters, as you will have to glue almost all the details. Threads are needed in tone (for sewing) and contrast (for stitching).
For this sewing, a pattern is not needed: you can fold the fabric in half width and trim the edges to symmetry: in the folded state, a square with a side of 55 cm is obtained. From the length, mark 5 cm and cut the resulting strip. Then each detail is cut in a fold: two parts of 0.5 m (height) x 0.55 m (the width of the future bag) and 5 cm x 55 cm are obtained.
The trim is cut out on the same principle, but in addition to two large and two small parts, two more blanks are cut in dimensions of 25 x 55 cm (this will be the decor of the sides).
Glue cut out separately for every detail except for details of the decor, otherwise the thickness of the textiles will be non-uniform. It should make 4 parts 50 x 55 cm and four 5 x 55 cm.
After all the blanks are cut, they are glued to the flizelin (glue) from the wrong side. If there is surplus, glue trim.
To the base part, at a distance of 22 cm from the bottom, a decorative insert from the finish measuring 25 x 55 cm is applied on the seamy side and tinted at a distance of 1 cm from the edge. Then the finish is folded over the face, ironed and laid finishing line with contrasting threads. If the design is designed double finishing lines, it is desirable to comply with this technique throughout the decoration.
It is necessary to perform work carefully so that the general appearance does not suffer. Sewing on the finishing parts, they are checked for symmetry, after which they are folded inwards, cut off with pins on the sides and bottom, and stitched on a sewing machine. The seam width is 0.8 - 1 cm. You can focus on the presser foot. For greater reliability, the seam is made double.
The same is done with the lining of the finishing fabric. However, the seam width should be greater. It is important that the trim parts are 2 to 3 mm smaller than the base material: this is necessary so that in the turned-out state the inside of the bag does not look at the “face”. So, there will be no surplus material inside, and the edge at the top will more easily turn in the right direction.
Having made the lines, they smooth out the seams of the base and the lining. Then give the product the desired shape. To do this, the fabric below at the junction of the parts is folded with an angle, and the seams must match. Perpendicular to the seam draw a line about 16-18 cm in length from one edge to the other.
The smaller this figure, the flatter the bag will be. They draw a line along the drawn line, then leave an allowance of 1 cm and cut off all the excess. They also make the corners of the accessory lining, not forgetting that it always has more indentation from the edge, otherwise the lining will have more base.
The handle blanks are folded with trimming, stitching, turning and ironing. Repeating elements of decor, pave a double line along the length. Finished parts are pinned to the top of the base at a distance of 15 cm from the side edges, combining the top and handle allowance.
The lining is turned over with the face out, put into the base workpiece and pinned on top, then sewn, combining the seams and not forgetting to leave a small section unstitched. It is needed in order to turn the product.
For strength, you can flash the top twice.
Turning the bag, it will remain to level the top, turn the piping inside out, sew up the opening for turning and fix the upper part with a double finishing stitching. Beach bag do it yourself!
