Wedding treats did not always look familiar to us. For example, in Ancient Rome a simple bread was baked for a wedding celebration, and in Russia a loaf with a large amount of decorations was adopted. Wedding cake in the traditional version appeared only at the turn of the XVIII and XIX centuries in Europe. It was then that the first multi-tiered cake was created.
Assembly

In this case, you need to prepare cakes of several sizes of arbitrary shape and lay them one on top of another in the form of a pyramid. Cakes in this case occupy 80–90% of the entire dessert. They must be fat by all means, otherwise the cake will fall apart without even waiting for the “take-away” to the wedding table.
Cakes should be used biscuit, and their impregnation is better to do in small portions, otherwise the biscuit may turn out simply raw. The cream layer should be approximately 50 mm, and the total number of tiers should not exceed three layers.
If you arrange the sides of each tier so that the projections are 10 cm, then you will have to cut such treats from the very top layer.
Original decorating ideas
The three-tiered wedding cake is a true masterpiece of culinary art, which best emphasizes the solemnity of the moment and invariably arouses the delight of all those invited.
In recent years, non-standard approaches to the design of such cakes have become fashionable, and many nontrivial designs have appeared: hanging cakes, asymmetrical, inverted, or cakes with prints. About these original decors and will be discussed further.

Asymmetrical
This is another new and very original way to decorate three-tiered cakes. Visually, it resembles a staircase, that is, all its tiers are shifted to one edge. Often the design is complemented with fresh flowers, real berries or images of pigeons, swans or other characters.

One of the latest trends in wedding fashion is cakes with pictures. They are usually made on rice paper with edible dyes.

Each wedding celebration ends with the process of cutting the cake young. Spouses cut small pieces and treat them to their invited guests. The essence of this tradition is that the newlyweds, as it were, distribute their happiness and joy, share them with loved ones and wish them to find the same harmony.
However, cutting a multi-storey treat is not easy at all, and you should be guided by several rules.
- The three-tiered cake must be cut starting from the bottom floor. The very first pieces are served to the newlyweds and their parents.
- The wedding cake should be cut by both spouses: the young husband holds a sharp knife, and his beloved wife directs the hand movements.
- Before cutting it is necessary to remove all the decorative figures.
- Slices of cake should be cut into small portions - approximately 5–6 cm in width.
The peculiarity of three-tiered cakes is that in this treat you can combine several types of toppings and thus please all guests. Most often for such desserts use creams based on condensed milk, yogurt, chocolate or cream. The combination of impregnations great variety. However, if you are determined to surprise your loved ones with such an unusual cake, then you can go for a little “trick”: take a special stand, in which instead of the bottom part of the treat, there is a foam base, decorated with mastic and whipped cream.

To get started, make inquiries about the confectionery shop, in which you plan to order a treat: go to their website, read reviews on the Internet, get opinions from friends and acquaintances. It is very important to give preference to an experienced craftsman who has the skills to assemble multi-tiered treats and, not least, uses only the freshest and most natural products for baking cake.
Decide in advance on the weight and size of the wedding dessert. To begin with, count the number of guests and multiply by 1.5: for each guest at a wedding party there is a piece of cake weighing about 150 grams. However, if you make a cake based on butter and cream, it will turn out to be quite satisfying, and the weight of the piece can be reduced.
Carefully consider the decor of the cake. Treats with figures depicting the bride and groom are quite popular, although you can always prefer the low-key classics and decorate the cake with flowers and ribbons. In recent years, at the peak of fashion, there are smooth cakes covered with silver-white mastic, and for the young with a sense of humor you can pick up caricature decors.
