When choosing clothes it is very important to pay attention not only to the appearance and beauty of the thing, but also to the material from which it is made. One of the fabrics that few people know about is the footer. Products that have similar material in their composition are incredibly pleasant to wear, and the footer has very few minuses. Let us examine in more detail the features of the fabric, its subtypes, as well as the subtleties of care at home.

What it is?

Unfortunately, to trace the history of the appearance of the footer is almost impossible. There are only a few assumptions. For example, some believe that the material could appear where they had long grown cotton. These are countries such as India and Mexico. However, such a theory does not seem to be very reasonable, since the footer is rarely pure cotton. In addition, for its production need knitting machines. This means that the technology of making the footer appeared quite late.

The fabric itself is a soft material derived from cotton. This unique plant is famous for ripening a seed box with ripening fiber elements when ripe. They are collected and then sent to production for the purpose of making yarn. When weaving fabrics, two types of thread are commonly used: smooth and soft. This allows you to get material with two different sides. The front part of the fabric is soft, you can see interweaving of threads in it, but the wrong side is fluffy, with light fibers.

Initially, the footer, of course, was exclusively cotton. Today, such a fabric is difficult to find, as manufacturers add to the composition and other components:

  • wool - thanks to this material turns out very warm;
  • lycra, polyester - such components increase the elasticity of the footer, give it an elegant appearance.

Varieties

There are several types of footer, this classification is based on the number of threads in the weave.

  • Single thread - the lightest and thinnest subspecies, it is completely hypoallergenic, therefore it is mainly used in the manufacture of clothes for babies.
  • Double-thread (two-thread). This material is already much denser, along with cotton there is usually polyester. On the face of this fabric is smooth, from the inside out there is a light pile. From 2 threads they sew light and beautiful casual clothes and underwear: blouses, tracksuits, bathrobes, sleep sets, products for children.
  • Three-thread (three-thread). This is the densest type of the fabric in question, which often contains velor or a bike. Differences trehnitki from the previous material lies in the fact that the reverse side of the fabric has a thick pile. In addition, clothing, sewn from three-thread footer, is incredibly warm, it saves even in the most severe frosts. Thermal underwear, warm overalls for babies, outerwear are made of it.

Pros and cons of the material

A fabric such as a double-stitch footer, mostly receives good reviews. She is very warm, pleasant to the touch, comfortable body. However, in addition, the material has a number of other more important advantages.

  • Wear resistance. The footer is able to last for a very long time, with proper care, the fabric does not “fall down”, there are no pellets on it, bruises.
  • Hypoallergenic. Since this material sews even clothes for babies, we can safely say that it is absolutely hygienic and does not cause any negative reactions.
  • Resistance to deformation. The footer does not lose its shape even after several seasons of socks, it does not stretch on the most “dangerous” places - elbows and knees.
  • Good absorption. Sometimes it happens that in winter it is hot in the whole set of sweaters and jackets, worn before going out. Even if the person is sweating, the material perfectly absorbs all the excess moisture, allowing the skin to breathe.
  • Naturalness Footer is made from natural cotton, and the percentage of impurities is usually not more than 10 of the total material. That is why the footer is considered one of the most environmentally friendly fabrics.
  • Careless care. It is simple to care for a footer, such fabric is not too fastidious to the composition of cleaning products, and the washed clothes retain their shape even when you have not enough time for ironing for weeks.

Nevertheless, before purchasing a fabric, several minuses should be taken into account:

  • products made from this material cannot be washed in hot water, hung on batteries and heaters;
  • The footer badly opposes the aggressive influence of the sun, therefore it is impossible to stack dried things on the balcony or in a well-lit place.

Where do they apply?

As a rule, double-stitch footer is widely used in the production of different types of clothing. Things derived from it, differ in quality and long service life. Consider which products you can buy today:

  • home: bathrobes, pajamas, sets for home and leisure;
  • children: romper, "little people" for kids up to a year, vests, sweaters, pants, light caps for autumn and spring;
  • sports: sweatshirts, leggings, leggings, suits;
  • casual: blouses, turtlenecks, sweatshirts, warm trousers, warm dresses.

How to care?

Footer - material, quite unpretentious in the care, however, he can lose his shape, if you do not pay attention to the rules recommended by experts.

  • Products from this fabric can not be washed at high temperatures. The optimal mode is 30 degrees. This rule is also true for hand washing.
  • Before you put the clothes in the machine, turn them out and make sure that there are no buttons unzipped. Such precautions will keep the quality of the pile in the future.

If your items are colored, it is best to purchase liquid powder for colored fabrics. White detergents and, moreover, laundry soap are suitable only for unpainted models.

  • After washing things from 2-thread, leave them to flow in a natural way. It is forbidden to twist the fabric with force, and also to put the machine on the “Spin” mode.
  • Ready-to-dry things are best laid out away from sunlight, batteries, and sources of artificial heat.

You can also apply the old “grandmother's” method, when water is drained from a thing, lay a sheet or a diaper on the floor, and then place the thing on it in a flattened state. This will fully preserve the appearance of the product and avoid its deformation.
