The atmosphere of any holidays is special. It is created from many things. In addition to the festive table and decorations, gifts play a special role. Everyone is waiting for them, so it is important that the gifts are packed securely and beautifully. We suggest you consider various options for packaging that you can do with your own hands so that it is stylish and original.

From paper

Let's start with the packaging, which is most pleasant to remove from the gift - from the classic, so pleasantly rustling paper bag. We offer ideas on how to hide a gift.

  • If a holiday souvenir is placed in the box, you can simply glue it with beautiful paper. You do not need anything other than double-sided tape to do everything neatly.
  • Nobody forbids to move away from the traditional rectangular shape and make a paper bag. Simply place your gift in the center of a square paper sheet and put all four corners on top, dragging them with a ribbon, eraser or bow. Get a kind of bag. The option is simple, but at the expense of an interesting print on paper, it can look very impressive.
  • If it is important for you that the gift keeps its shape, but it is problematic to make a hard frame out of paper, use the basket or the bottom of a regular box as a base, leaving the top open so that the package can be shaped into a bag.
  • Recently, ordinary, unbranded craft ready-made gift bags have become popular. They come in different sizes, they are very easy to decorate. You can decorate the surface with a suitable ikebana made of branches, balls and ribbons, you can apply a pattern or decorate the bag with tapes of natural fabrics.

From fabric

Paper is a great option, but not the only one. Some choose to decorate textile packaging: fleece, silk, velvet. This is a fairly economical and convenient option. It is difficult to break such a container ahead of time, it doesn’t shine through, nothing will happen to it, even if it gets wet, well, the colors and textures of fabric bags simply cannot be listed! Consider some types of work with fabric bags.

  • If you love crafts, you can sew a real bag. The easiest way to do this on a typewriter, but if a gift is a small volume, it can be done with your hands. A simple looped or stalked seam holding the edges will look pretty impressive.

Make a pattern, focusing on the size of your gift, and in just a few minutes prepare an excellent cover.

  • If the fabric was monophonic, for example, a noble red velvet natural canvas bag or soft fleece - decorate the “facade” with appliqué. You can sew a ready-made patch or create your own composition. Cut a pattern or pattern from other pieces of fabric. Some create button mosaics, others use feathers, ribbons, or do small embroidery. A lot of options, it all depends on your free time and skill.
  • If sewing is not a strong point, but you still want to use weaving for finishing, do not worry, you can make a bag using fabric and any ribbon. There are two options. First: by analogy with a paper, choose a piece of fabric suitable for your gift, place a present in the center, connect the 4 ends of the package (or tighten the edges upwards if you cut the circle) and tie the design to a tight knot, carefully folding the folds. Second: wrap a gift on the principle of candy. You also place the main contents in the center of the fabric, but closer to one of the edges, and roll the gift like a dough.

All that remains is to tie up the packaging on both sides in order to fix the object inside.

How to decorate?

A little higher you could already find a few ideas, but we’ll dwell on a little more detail on the finish.

  1. The first option is application. It can be made from fabric, buttons, paper, tinted or natural wool. All the materials at hand can be easily turned into finishing materials if you have an inspiration.
  2. The second option - Christmas toys. Small balls, bells and bells, beautiful openwork figurines that can be hung on a string that clings to a bag.
  3. Another way to be original is to use candies or cookies in the design. It is not only beautiful, but also delicious packaging, which children will especially enjoy.
  4. Use to decorate beads or beads. Embroidery or, using large beads, complete the usual tape fixing the package.
  5. For packaging, you can use self-adhesive rhinestones. This is an elementary way of finishing that does not require special skills, besides, rhinestones can often be found in a format when they are already sold in the form of a certain pattern, for example, snowflakes or Christmas trees.
  6. Now they often make bags of burlap, it can be very beautifully decorated with natural fir branches and cones or make up a kind of flower arrangement. In this kind of design it would be appropriate to use any natural elements, from flowers to dry twigs, strapped with ordinary twine.

Knitted option

The last packaging option, which I would like to tell you, is a crocheted or knitted pouch. Here you will need a certain amount of skill, but such a bag in itself is already a gift. It is more difficult to make such a package than it is made of cloth, but agree that it is pleasant for your loved ones to try.

If you do not know how to knit, and the idea requires it, you will find many master classes online, where in a few minutes you can learn how to make simple forms of knitting.

Start easy - try to make a solid bag. The knitted bag looks really original, it gives off a special festive mood, so this package is worth the effort. You can decorate it not only with a pattern, but with all the above-mentioned elements of decoration.

Do not be afraid to show imagination, the holidays are created for a special mood!
