How to clean faux fur at home?

Nowadays, artificial fur is gaining great popularity, and the point is not only in the conservation of nature. People get fur coats, hats, parks, capes of such material, rugs and other similar products. Thanks to the use of modern technology, today it is possible to produce very attractive synthetic fur, which is much cheaper than natural, but not much inferior to it in beauty. However, sometimes it also gets dirty, and you have to think about how to properly wash it at home.

In the event that the dust appeared on the artificial fur on a jacket or on another product while it was stored, it will be possible to get rid of it very easily. Take a clean, damp cotton cloth, lay it nap down, lay the thing on it and knock it out using a beater for carpet. So you can get rid of the dust that has accumulated between the fibers: it will remain on a wet surface.

If you knocked out a thing, but the dirt has not gone away, remove it using a soap solution. We need to act as follows:

• The surface to be cleaned should be vertical. To do this, hang the fur on the hangers.
• Take a transparent shampoo, which does not contain any additional additives. It will be enough 3 tablespoons. Dissolve shampoo in a liter of liquid, it should be warm. Beat the mixture with your hands: a fluffy foam should appear.
• Using a brush, carefully apply the product to the surface. Water should not be on the basis of the product.
• If the item has a medium or long nap, it should be cleaned in the direction of its growth. Low villi are treated in the opposite direction. Artificial fur should be cleaned only this way - this rule can be called the main one.
• Get rid of excess foam using a damp cotton rag. Pre-squeeze it to make it almost dry.
• To dry the product, wipe it using a clean terry cloth. Then place it outside or in a well ventilated area. Avoid getting the sun rays on the thing. Heaters should not stand too close to the product.
• When the pile dries, comb it using a metal comb. Her teeth should be rare.

To make the fur collar fluffy, glisten, mix glycerin (one teaspoon), water (0.5 liters), ethyl alcohol (0.5 liters) and process it with this mixture. Apply the mixture gently to the bristle using a cotton swab or sprayer.

White fur is cleaned using lemon juice:

• In equal proportions, mix water with lemon juice.
• Dip a cotton wool tampon into this mixture and use it to clean the product.
• You can take citric acid powder, not lemon juice. Mix two parts of the liquid with one part of the powder.

Another method that is suitable for white nap is the use of hydrogen peroxide:

• Dissolve one tablespoon of 3% peroxide in one liter of water.
• Spread the product, apply the mixture to it.
• To keep things dry, hang them outside or in a room that is often ventilated.
• Use a metal comb. Her teeth should be dull and not very frequent.

To make the thing white, use blueness:

• In one liter of water, add a few drops of blue. It should make a pale blue mixture.
• Dip a tampon made of cotton or a sponge into the solution, apply the product.
• Dry the wet product outside or in a well ventilated room.
• Comb the pile using a metal comb with occasional teeth.

To get an effective mixture with which you can clear the white thing, use ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and water. Mix the ingredients in equal proportions. Apply the mixture to the surface using a spray bottle. The fur should dry thoroughly. When it becomes dry, take an iron comb and comb it.

In that case when the basis of a product was polluted, it is worth washing it. The artificial pile can be washed if it is placed on a mixed or synthetic basis. It can be a mixture of polyester, viscose, cotton fibers, polyolefin fibers. Wash the thing manually. To do this, proceed as follows:

• Dissolve detergent in water, which is intended to wash things from synthetics, silk, wool. It is necessary to consider the recommendations specified in the instructions. The temperature of the solution is not more than forty degrees.
• Immerse the product in liquid and gently squeeze it with your hands. Can't rub the thing too hard. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to straighten the fur later.
• Thoroughly rinse the pile, the water will have to be changed several times. The optimum temperature is from 15 to 30 degrees. It is possible to use an antistatic detergent. After it, rinse the item twice, no more, otherwise the antistatic effect will not remain.

• You can use a terry towel - it can be used to remove excess water. Wrap the wet product in it and slightly squeeze.
• Spread it out and hang it over the bath. For this you can use hangers. When the water stops dripping, transfer the fur to a street or to a room that is well ventilated.
• Comb dried fur.
• You can slightly iron the pile using a warm iron. This is a good option if the fur is lining.

If you want to get rid of dirty stains on faux fur, proceed as follows:

• Prepare warm water (0.5 l), dissolve in it any washing powder (two tablespoons).
• Gently rub the liquid into the product using a sponge. Need to move from the edges to the middle.
• Remove sponge with dirt and detergent. If necessary, perform the procedure again.
• Dry the thing, the temperature should be room temperature.
• When most of the dirt has been removed, wait for it to dry and gently remove it using a brush.

If you do not get rid of the dirty spot, remove it with gasoline:

1. It must be cleaned, otherwise there will be divorces on things. To check how clean the solvent is, drip it onto the paper. It should dry. If a stain remains on the surface of a clean white sheet, you cannot use gasoline.
2. Moisten a clean cotton cloth or cotton swab with a solvent. Squeeze the material to achieve maximum dryness. Gently swab the soiled fur, remove the dirt. So clean the cuffs, collars.
3. In some cases, purified gasoline and an absorbent are applied to the nap. The fat is removed with a solvent and absorbed thanks to the absorbent. Gasoline is added to the absorbent.
4. Apply the resulting semi-liquid mixture to the stain, leave it for a while, let it dry.
5. Then clean it off using a brush.

In the process of cleaning the pile should follow some recommendations:

1. Make sure the chosen remedy is safe. Select a small area for processing. If the pile does not stick together, does not cease to shine and does not change the shade, you can clear the whole thing.
2. Before processing the product is to wear rubber gloves. If you are using ammonia or gasoline, provide ventilation, open the windows so that the room is thoroughly ventilated. Do not hold the item near open sources of fire.
3. With regard to the use of a washing machine for cleaning faux fur - you first need to think about the possible consequences. Examine the product label, find out what the manufacturer says about the possibility of such a wash. You should not experiment with low-quality fur.

Dry cleaning is a good option if the pollution is very strong. In this case, you should not try to deal with it yourself, otherwise you can spoil the thing. However, not all products can be cleaned this way.

Faux fur is on many boots and shoes. It looks very nice, but to care for such shoes is not easy. There are various ways to remove dirt from shoes:

1. If the fur is light, white, you can use talc, flour, baby powder. Pour the selected product onto the pile and after some time (usually a few minutes), remove it using a brush.
2. Fat, a small amount of dirt can be cleaned with baking soda. There may be several such procedures - you need to ensure that the product stops getting dirty. Paint is removed with gasoline.
3. If the pile is dark, it is not recommended to clean it with flour. Otherwise, the thing may deteriorate. Use sawdust to clean the dark pile: they will need to be poured onto the fur.
