And although 13-year-old Turlington flatly refused to try herself in this business, her parents persuaded her to go to a model school. They themselves, too, initially opposed the onslaught of Cody, who began to literally pursue them and paint the chic prospects of their daughter. But the photographer was so convincing that as a result, the parents succumbed to persuasion, and Christy Turlington concluded the first contract in her life with a local modeling agency.

Oddly enough, at first, Christie accepted her new occupation without much enthusiasm. The girl considered the contract with the modeling agency only as a way to earn money, which she planned to invest in further pursuits of her favorite sport. In particular, Turlington dreamed of buying her own horse.

But Christie's first steps in modeling turned out to be very successful, so she soon fell in love with this job. Up to the end of school, the young star of this business went to shoot in the evenings after class. And as soon as she turned 18, Christie moved from her native town of Walnut Creek, California, to New York. Here the girl very quickly managed to get a contract with one of the most famous and successful agencies around the world - Ford Models.

It was 1987 year. As soon as she began her ascent, Turlington hit the cover of Italian Vogue, and at the same time the best photographers in the world wanted to work with her.Christie became famous, and soon she became very wealthy: in 1989, she began her long-term cooperation with such giants as Calvin Klein and Maybelline.

In addition to participating in fashion shows and photo shoots for popular magazines, Tarlington tucked up and other interesting work in show business. For example, together with her colleagues "in the shop" - Crawford, Campbell and Evangelista - Christie in 1990 starred in a video for the song of George Michael Freedom, which was popular at that time.

But after only 4 years, being literally on top of the world, Christy Turlington decided to leave the model world. At the age of 25, for the first time in her life, a model faced dissatisfaction with her appearance. And the reason for this was a sharp increase in weight. At that time, the girl decided to end once and for all with such an addiction as smoking. And these dramatic changes affected the figure of the model.

They strengthened the determination of the model to leave the career and its conservative views. Of course, it was still early to talk about the decline of youth. But when faced with the first major changes in the figure and the cooling that followed to her person in a professional environment, she realized that things would only get worse. At that critical moment, Turlington decided to take up her education. The next 4 years she devoted the study of religion and philosophy - it was in these two specialties in 1999 that Christie received two bachelor's degrees at once.
